I only have one complaint.

its easier to get hakkon weapons than Cloth.

its not giving me any either  I got the bow and nothing else  but it doesn't matter if I were level 30/30/30 with inquisition weapons and armor I would still be awesome!

I don't have enough cloth to put in any of my hakkon weapons so I can heal on kill lol. (I dont have HoK rings)

I have the Dagger, 1h Sword, Bow, , Staff in that order. I've killed about 40 NM dragons.

complaining about the PS3 support, and how some people should not get weapons unless they've played or looted certain items beforehand.

I'm guessing this means you're either on PS4 or PS3?  Pity.

For an hour and a half they complained about everything, saying people shouldnt do nightmare unless you have 100+ promotions (not required if you are skilled and have the right gear), making fun of me because I ran nightmare with lvl 20s (Used a Reaver, Silent Sister then Elementalist). Also claiming he can run nighmares on a lvl 1 Silent Sister (Sure, might not be as efficent, but ok, what do you want? and award?)

Sorry to hear that -- but sounds like we might enjoy playing together if you play on the PC like I do.  I strongly feel that you don't need *any* promotions to do Nightmare with a coordinated group, good gear, level 20s (or close to it), and decent to high skill.  And I did my first Nightmares with under 20 in each stat.  At about 30ish in each now with over 25 NM dragons done.  I also know some people, at least, talk about "wasting" XP by doing NM on a level 20...but I'd rather be able to do the runs more efficiently (than at all) and try to get the Hakkon weapons if I'm not completely sure of the group.  I can always grind Threatening and/or Perilous for XP on my own.

If you want a game that rewards you for endless playing/farming go play WoW.

All the above said, as a current high end raider I'm going to strongly disagree with you about WoW.  And frankly, it's one of the biggest differences I see in mentality.

WoW: "All right guys, we recleared the farm bosses and the group got 3% stronger in about 2-4 hours from new gear.  Now the rest of the week we're going to spend 6+ hours (often 12+ hours in many guilds) practicing the new boss without any way to get stronger this week.  We have to beat it through skill and teamwork -- plan out our attack and how to deal with stuff during the fight.  And we're going to be dying dozens of times while learning."

DAMP: "Let's YOLO up NM, every man for himself, if we wipe we'll say we need more promotions and give up (and go back to grinding those promotions for guaranteed success."

Hell, that even applies to Perilous -- you cannot imagine (or perhaps you could) the frustration I had playing an Archer in Perilous with worse gear/promotes with teammates who all wanted to lone wolf it and played support/tank characters...without supporting/tanking.  They just wanted to be able to survive easily and didn't bother helping the squishier high damage team members.  At this point I have the gear/promotes so that I can usually manage, but a few weeks ago?  Just...argh.  I had a weapon that was more than good enough and appropriate blue/purple items in the other slots...but the whole concept of "playing as a team" was completely foreign to so many groups.

Make staff blades that use metal/leather and salvage them.  Ideally wouldn't have to do that but it does work.

Does the max Dmg of the weapons vary? like the dragon wapons? or is it set to max?

Sadly, it varies, which makes no sense to me given the actual unique nature of the drops (if you have a Hakkon 2H then it will never drop again while you possess it -- unlike a store or dragon weapon where you could keep farming them and if you get a better version then use that).  I actually salvaged a Hakkon 2H for that reason -- massively bad roll, like 3% less than the average (more like 4% less once you count armor).  Technically I've salvaged both of the Hakkon weapons I've gotten (1H was salvaged because I wanted dagger/2H/bow as two of the first three and 2H was salvaged due to horrendously low damage -- keeping that 15% chance alive).

Yes PS4.

Yes I agree with this mostly, my priority right now is getting better gear. I cannot run NMs with lvl 10-14, and I feel I got all the gear I could get from Pelirus (have all dragon Weapons) and might as well just keep doing nightmares unless im trying to lvl up a character. I have no issues doing nighmares with my Ele or SS. Unless we face dark spawns, it takes an organized PUG to kill those gunners properly, and even then, you might get 4 gunners spawn at once, and just 1shot your teamates one by one. If you want me to revive you against Gunners, please get out of their LOS.

Only point I made about WoW is that you dont need to be skilled at all, just you need the right gear (which takes waaaaay to long to get).

I stopped playing WoW because Raids that lasted 6+ hours and 90% of the time I got nothing and ended up going to bed at 3 AM  while trying to get up at 7AM. just didnt work for me lol.

The thing is all I do is PUGs, so first rule of thumb when doing NM is being able to survive with little or no help from teamates and at the same time try to contribute, if I bring an Archer/Necro eventhough I can do insane dmg, I just cant stay alive long enough to be useful. Like you said. in PUGs dont expect "Team Play" just a bunch of ppl running around. I have a mic, rarely use it, unless the people in the group seem nice/friendly.

I have to be honest though, when I first started doing NM, all I did was try to survive, found that with my Legio I could survive, but I cant deal enough dmg and runs will take forever, at this point I'd rather use the SS, more dmg, and just as good of a tank with the right build except every Pug has 2 SS on it already lol, and my ele with barrier and Dead Syphon is very durable. I played my AW waaay to much and just got bored of him. also seems like my Ele can survice longer than my AW because Eles dont pull that much aggro.

I have found that recently, if a player dies a lot in nm (like in the first 3 waves) they usually just leave, because they know that with 3 ppl, it will either take forever, or they will just wipe. so might as well leave, let someone else join and be useful. this happens more with Reavers and Necros imo.

Omg im going to try this today. lol thx.

Sadly, it varies.

Crap, so that's how the Drop rate works. so I guess you cannot have 2 Hakkon Daggers. Makes sense though.

I'll check if any of my weapons have a good enough base dmg to justfity keeping them.

Yes, and that point has been completely wrong since Burning Crusade at a minimum.  The best guilds in the world have some of the best gear available and still often take 300-600 pulls on the final boss of a raid because it is simply that hard.  Even being in the absolute best gear would only be like a 5-10% performance gain at that point -- significant, yes, but 98%+ of the population will still never be able to beat that boss even with the best gear and dev nerfs to the boss.  I lead a guild that raids Sunday and Monday nights from 7:30 CST to 11:30-12:00 CST and that is it -- 8.5-9ish hours a week total.  And we clear the raids on the hardest difficulty without any kind of permanent and infinite power bonuses like DAMP : /

You kind of literally have WoW and DAMP the wrong way around -- people in DAMP advocate "promotions > skill" to faceroll everything while that's not an option in WoW.  I see people mock players on the "leaderboards" to to being bad but just having so many promotions it just doesn't matter.

I'd strongly suggest trying to add people to your friend list, then.  Helps a lot.

Do keep in mind that you can leave and rejoin a game too.  Can happen in private lobbies especially since no fear of PUGs joining -- if you die and fade out then quit/rejoin.  I find it a bit exploitative but I'm not sure what could be reasonably changed about it (without hurting the ability of people to replace someone who DCed or whatever).

Omg im going to try this today. lol thx.

I've also heard that salvaging tier 3 staff blades will give tier 3 cloth though I cannot confirm that personally yet.

Crap, so that's how the Drop rate works. so I guess you cannot have 2 Hakkon Daggers. Makes sense though.

I'll check if any of my weapons have a good enough base dmg to justfity keeping them.

Drop rate goes 15% (no weapons) -> 7.5% (1 weapon) -> 5% (2 weapons) -> 2% (3 weapons) -> 2% (4 weapons).

This thread might help.

Sorry, I couldn't hear you over duoing a buffed (third person dead) zone 3 FC against Darkspawn with under 30 average stats.  If you're bad enough you can't survive with lower stats then you have my sympathies.

P.S. you do realize (wait, you probably don't) that people can easily promote/grind XP when *not* doing NM?

Not sure what you're talking about, but if it was my lvl 20 templar I was testing my build before I went to eat. :)

after all, I dont need the XP if I'm lvl 20.

I was using the 1h dragon weapon since it has HoK. I did Ok. but my templar needs the 10% walking fortress/Unbowed from my hakkon.

Now just gotta get some cloth -_-.

I made about 30 staff blades from diff materials... only got one imperial cloth lol. daym

thanks for that link,

my dagger is 171 (will keep)

my 1h Sword is 227 (ugh) might salvage this.

I think my staff is 87 not much diff.

my bow is 191 (good enough).

Yeah, definitely don't play an Elementalist without cotton, not like they get 10% healing anytime any time any enemy dies or anything...oh wait.

Well, definitely don't play a Reaver without cotton, not like they can Devour or get HoH with Rampage...oh wait.

Um, definitely don't play Silent Sister with a Dragon dagger off-hand for minor healing while most damage is absorbed by guard...oh wait.

In that case, definitely don't play a Legionnaire and...nevermind, don't need cotton there either.

Or, uh, Arcane Warrior?...but don't need cotton there either.

Hmm. This is tough.

As for my original comment if you do not have cloth that means you probably have low stats so that means you're probably a liability to the team and probably will die over n over on strong classes like the reaver n templar..... ps.hakkons are junk with no crit chance. L2crit.

ok, let me just clarify. I've had plenty of Cloth, I've just used it all to put HoK on other weapons ie: Dragon Maul :'( . now I'm just farming it to put max HoK on my Hakkon Bow. ( I dont wanna just put the 8%).

Yesterday I salvaged my 1h Hakkon sword (only 227 dmg) and I kinda fell bad lol.
