It took Bioware nearly a year to release story-based DLC.

I'm going to repeat this so it really sinks in.

It took Bioware almost an entire freaking year to develop DLC that wasn't just an enemy grind and wasn't sans the story and sans character interaction (both of which are Bioware's strengths).

I'm sorry, Jaws of Hakkon was so abysmally mediocre in every respect that I don't even consider it worthy DLC.  I didn't even touch The Descent.  If I wanted a dungeon grind I'd play Dark Souls.  Bioware, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?  If you're trying to improve the quality of your games this is not the way to do it!

I am sorry you are generally unsatisfied (Chronid).

I think it can be said in this thread there was those that did enjoy Descent and Hakkon. If they did not satisfy the type of experience that you were looking for, then so be it. There is never going to be something that everyone is going to universally like.

You are fine to criticize if you so desire, just as people are allowed to retort back at you.

As for comments, about our participation. Just because we dont post doesnt mean we are not reading. The very nature of this post will change the tone of this thread, based on my experience.

Oh?  And here I thought Bioware Forums was a place that fostered inclusiveness?  And didn't allow people to hate on each other and call someone else an "ass" for simply offering critique?  Or....is that only when it's lodged against Bioware themselves?

You seem to be rather standoffish, was there something in my post that gave you the impression that I was being so, that warranted such a response?

I am stand offish because people have egregiously disregarded the Forum Rules in this very thread and your first response was very apathetic in nature to their "retorts."

Do not troll or make personal attacks
Trolling and attacking others, in any form, is not allowed. Trolling is posting with the intent to provoke an emotional response from another user.
Examples include:

  • Non-constructive feedback or comments.
  • Personal attacks: Do not insult, degrade or criticize any person or group of people. Personal attacks are hurtful and destroy useful discussion. Examples of personal attacks include calling someone stupid, saying "you suck," "I wish you would die," or "you should be fired."

This is verbatim from the site rules.

I offer valid criticism in my thread.  People are welcome to disagree with it.  That's not the problem here. I have Liked posts in the past that disagree with my opinion but offer lengthy and well formed arguments that just address the topic and not my person.  But people are legitimately insulting me and making petulant attacks and your first post in the thread is basically "Deal with it." I appreciate you coming here and stating you are reading and listening to feedback.  But again, like with Bioware overall, you're taking two steps back with every one step forward.

I am not a moderator. If you feel that people are not observing the forum rules, there is a report button.

My response was simply to say if you didn't like Hakkon and Descent, then I am sorry you feel that way, but those were made with goals in mind and if they didnt match your expectations, then I apologize. It was not 'deal with it'. Then, from my perspective, because you are frustrated with other people in this thread you wish to take it out on me.

Oh.  My mistake.  I guess I assumed Bioware employees could do all the things moderators did anyway.

No.  That was not my intention.  I legitimately thought you had the power to delete and/or moderate posts.  I apologize.

You are correct that they do, and that I can.

But I choose not to use that ability, the short reason for it is. 1) I do not moderate enough to have a guideline for what is 'normal'. 2) I do not want people to feel I wield a power on the forums that they do not. 3) When people are moderating they a lot of the time call it censorship, I choose to operating in such a way people will not accuse me of such things.

If you wanted my opinion, starting off a thread with "I'm going to repeat this so it really sinks in." is generally not the "nicest". Yes I know it is meant as iteration towards a point, but generally that kind of statement is made during verbal speech (because you cant go back if people miss it). Your thread topic has already brought them in, and they know what it is about. But when it is in a written form immediately preceded by the statement you are about to remake. It treats people as though they are incapable of comprehending the point that you are trying to make (ie making them look stupid/you superior). I mean I can't guarantee that this is the case, but it does set a tone from the get go and my 2 cents.

Is 76 likes a record for this board? I haven't seen better.

Off topic but 438 is the record, on the bottom of the main page you can see most popular content, this one isnt even halfway to cracking the top 10
