It took Bioware nearly a year to release story-based DLC.

I think someone forgot to check out the last 2 DLC's.

Jaws of Hakkon was a story DLC. The overall arc is about finding out about the Last Inquisitor, as well as dealing with the Jaws of Hakkon. And, if you played it, you'll know the 2 were intertwined.

The Descent, was a story DLC. The overall arc is about finding the cause of the Earthquakes threatening Thedas. We venture through the Deep Roads, and if you play it, you discover the cause of the Earthquakes, a faction of Dwarves the likes we haven't seen before, and more importantly, we meet the Nug King.

Trespasser, WILL be a STORY DLC. The overall arc is dealing with the Chantry's claim that the Inquisition has grown too powerful, and are trying their best to control you/disband the Inquisition, as well as a Qunari invasion of sorts.

3 DLC's. 3 Stories.

I look forward to your thread complaining about Trespasser having to be purchased before playing. I could use the entertainment value of your useless complaints while I drink my morning tea :D

You're both right. But I expected an adult person (as I would expect from EVERBODY in these forums) to quit arguing based on what the words mean and stick to what the other person meant. It is VERY EASY to understand what he was complaining about: Both Hakkon and Descent were NOT story oriented cinematic DLC a thing Bioware acknowledges since in an interview they said thats what Trespasser will be because fans asked for it.

I can't think of anything more childish than what you people do in these forums bringing up literal discussion of words. Everybody here have a dictionary, there is no point in discussing what word means. I was willing to believe adults could act like adults and argue not with dishonesty of semantics juggling but by sticking to what the other person meant. So unless you (like everybody else here it seems) is unable to understand things almost obvious as what the OP said, you are just childish.

But that's not all, most adults when they try to prove their point they go for this kind of stupidity in almost EVERY discussion, in politics, religion x atheism, feminism, quality of things and so on. It is childish to the extreme childishness of childishit. It is just coward, it stretches and weakens the discussions.

There is no point in discussing story if it is not story as the OP meant, of course there are hundreds of definitions for what "story DLC" is, but only one matters in this topic, the one the OP brought in. Specially when you are free to create another topic praising Bioware for being retarded and releasing 2 futile storyless DLCs.

There we go...with hate threads. It might seem to you that all the writing, getting all VA, building new areas is so easy. Especially that many of the DA's writers have moved to another projects to work on. It's better to wait a year and get heavy story DLC than getting some mentions in the codex after 3 months waiting. But please if you have a problem. Just don't buy this DLC and move on. No one will cry.

Oh, so it's okay when people do it to the thread creator (ie, me) but not to Bioware defense force members?

It's almost as if video games aren't something you can just will into existence...like there's actual work involved or something. Weird.

Yeah, and CDPR managed to implement a new game plus feature that only took a month or two whereas Bioware took almost an entire year to release Golden Nug and a story based expansion.

In that case, dao took over a year to put out story based dlc.

I highly doubt it only took a month to make. Most of the free dlc would have been stuff they were working on while making the game.

At this point, after having been here on BSN for DA2, ME3 and DA:I before and after release, I would shut the forum down, if I were in charge. Simple enjoyment is too hard to find for too many people here, but most are very willing to destroy the enjoyment of others.

They're catering to the people who liked DA:I as-is, not the people who wanted something like their previous games.

I do find it a little odd. I mean, what's the point of leaving your continuation until most people have probably forgotten the main game?

Since both JoH and Descent are factual story content DLC's, a biased opinion is not the droid one is looking for on a multiple choice of True or False.

On the bright side, one nearly got it correct....

I'm going to repeat this so it really sinks in.

It took Bioware almost an entire freaking year to develop DLC that wasn't just an enemy grind and wasn't sans the story and sans character interaction (both of which are Bioware's strengths).

I'm sorry, Jaws of Hakkon was so abysmally mediocre in every respect that I don't even consider it worthy DLC.  I didn't even touch The Descent.  If I wanted a dungeon grind I'd play Dark Souls.  Bioware, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?  If you're trying to improve the quality of your games this is not the way to do it!

Waaah? Waaah!

Not really.  JoH, while having so much of the same boring filler and collectible nonsense, at least had some interesting tidbits about the last Inquisitor.  Descent was a dungeon crawl with no real payoff.  Just a bunch of vagueness after Valta bonds with the big blue heart.

I don't mind dungeon crawls, but when your character literally says that he has more questions than answers....that's pretty lame.

A dungeon crawl is its own payoff. Oh no, vagueness. No one told me exactly what to think, so I hate it.

Bioware just released an incredible trailer and by all appearances Inquisition is going to end on a high note. And you're complaining about the first two DLC, one of which you couldn't be bothered to try. That's just sad.

It's the BSN way :P

No, a dungeon crawl is not it's own payoff.  As for your second silly comment, it's a freaking video game.  When I want to use my imagination I will go and read a book, when I want a visual representation of a story, I watch a movie or play a video game.

It's not about telling people what to think, it's about explaining what the heck is going on in their story, which they didn't do.  To throw a bunch of things at us like titans, sha-brytol, scaled ones, and then tell us absolutely nothing about them..that's bad storytelling.  Vagueness has no place in video games, especially when a Thedas shaking event is promised in the trailer.

Though, I suppose...thats literally true, the titan caused the earthquake.  Nice bait and switch there.

Oh, one other thing, when you use childish comments like you did, your already losing the argument.

Vagueness like Descent gave us has no place in video games.
