I hate how people are still posting stupid responses to Bioware staff. Do you guys not get that the reason most of them don't post here is because of that? You guys have ruined the interaction between the fans and the devs on the BSN years ago and some of us are trying to turn it around. Stop being so damn negative, pisses me off to no end.
It took Bioware nearly a year to release story-based DLC.

Bioware did great with both DLC's. I absolutely LOVED JoH. The whole story with the last Inquisitor was awe inspiring and just made me love my character even more. Made me wanting more. I'd elaborate on what but no spoilers.

In case it's still unclear to the OP, I'll post again.
The DLC that is dropping today is a STORY dlc. From what the trailer showed us, the story arc is that everyone's furious at the Inquisition because the Inquisition are basically the only ones getting things done, while the Qunari come and celebrate our new found success with the best gift of them all:
Violence!
Just like Descent was a STORY dlc.
And Jaws of Hakkon was a STORY dlc.

Dohoho, nice try. You can try to pretty it up but the fact remains DA: Inquisition came out in November. It is now essentially two months from November. 12-2 = 10 months.
10 months seems to be, at the very least, in the ball park of nearly a year wouldn't you agree? I mean, what you call NEARLY a year? a month from 12 months? two WEEKS from 12 months? a day from 12 months? It's all relative.
You do the maffs, I'll do the alfredo.

I keep saying this but the forum was far far worse around DA2 and ME3 and they posted a lot after those games.

The hand that's burned teaches best.
Or another way, if people are going to keep being uncivil, why bother.

They saved the best for last. Not through it yet, but they've done well. Hopefully they release a patch to fix a few issues encountered.
8 ability limitation needs to go though next game. It was a bad idea before release and it's an idea that's gotten worse with each new release.

Those of us with negative opinions of the game have just as much right to continue posting here as those with a positive opinion of the game. Though people should of course be civil about it. I try my best to be as such at all times, though I know I slip a little bit at times when I get frustrated over certain things.

Yeah, I remember the crap storm after ME3. The only thing I could compare that to was when Blizzard announced that they were gonna make WoW players start using their real names in game.

One of the beautiful things about the internet is you can check yourself before you post. Typing on a keyboard isn't even close to the same as talking. You have to make effort.
And most of the 'negative opinions' aren't really. They're nerd rage at Bioware for some imagined slight or another.
I mean this whole topic is a load of horse crap. Bioware put out three story dlc between late March (when JoH came out for Xbox One) and now. That the OP didn't like them does not change the fact JoH and Descent are story dlc. So the accusation of nearly a year is a lie.
Now if he'd just commented with some decorum about what he didn't like, that would have been useful and civil. But he wasn't.

Yeah, I often find myself going back to edit a post. But I don't think I would say that most of the negative opinions are nerd rage. A good many of them yes but most? I have seen a lot of valid, well articulated criticisms here. I have seen well articulated posts praising the game as well. Then again, I have seen a whole lot of mockery on the part of those defending the game.
As for the previous DLCs, I would say that JoH was a story DLC, not a strong one, but it was story based. Descent though, I cannot at all call that a story DLC. It was a dungeon crawl with a few vague bits of info thrown into the end that explained nothing. We got some new neat codex entries sure, but that is more of Bioware's habit lately of telling rather than showing.
Finally, I would agree that the OP should have framed his thoughts less aggressively than he did. It did come off as a rage. That being said, there was a lot of mockery in the beginning of this thread as well against him.

I'll wait until they hopefully do a sale on it. The last two DLCs were disappointing to me. Not saying this one will be, but I don't think they deserve the full price from me on this one after previous installments.

As someone who was disappointed with the base game, and after watching let's plays of the first two DLCs I decided that they had nothing to offer me but this one is different. It's definitely worth full price and multiple playthroughs. If you like the same things I do then you'll love this DLC and not only want to do multiple playthroughs but also get excited for DA4.

Judging from reading previous posts of yours, I think I most likely do like the same things as you do. And I most likely would like Trespasser, will, I should say, when I eventually play it. I just can't bring myself to do it yet. I have heard that the combat is much like Descent's, where they mostly just greatly increased the health pools. I am dreading that greatly I have to admit. Especially as the only character I have that I finished the game with is my mage and I found combat with him to be even more tedious than others. And I'm not sure I can drag my way through the rest of the base game with any of my others.
I'll play it eventually, I'll probably even like it from what I have been hearing. Just not right now.

JoH had plenty of story.
Its just that it felt much like the other maps that released in the main game. Most areas would have their main quests where there was plenty of story, but were also loaded with lots of uninteresting side content to pad out the open world. That's what JoH felt like to me. It was interesting while you were dealing with the main quest, not so much when you weren't. In that it wasn't much different from the Hinterlands.

All of the dlc had story. Whether or not it was the story you wanted or what you consider story content is a different matter. Descent was meant to be a linear dungeon crawl with a story. JOH had story which played out much like the maps in the main game. If you liked the main game then you probably liked JOH.
Trespasser is what many gamers feel is story based content, but IMHO stories can be told in many ways. Bioware showed that with the three dlcs released. I have a few complaints, but overall I am very satisfied.

I really like that the three story-dlc's we got were so different. I you go in to the game now we have low level zones for that playstyle up to substantially tougher ones for highlevel play. You can pick and choose where to focus for your character. I wouldn't do all in a pt. It is sort of implied in trespasser that you have continued to clear up rifts and whatnot in the two years since dispatching Coryfish. The descent can be done in one go or not if you prefer. The finish it of with the glorius epilogue. Fabulous!

It most likely is anyway because I personally doubt the story is gonna be about Solas
