Hey, folks!

I'm writing this a little in advance of PAX Prime so that it can be put up right after our panel on Saturday. Hopefully everything went well, and you've heard all about the upcoming content that will conclude our adventures together in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Before I go into detail, let me just say thank you. This game has been a crazy ride, from the moment we decided to completely rebuild DA on the Frostbite engine to today, when so many of you have stunned us with your amazing fan creations, passion and, of course, feedback on what we did right and where we can improve should we do another. Thank you on all counts!

Coming up, our newest patch targeting the Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms includes a couple of treats in addition to the usual fixes.

First, the Golden Nug lets you "sync" your collectibles across games after you’ve completed DA:I's main story. To take advantage of this, head to the Skyhold Undercroft post game and click the new Golden Nug statue. After you've done that once, every game that's both a) online and B) on the same platform will have a similar statue added to the Undercroft and Haven. Clicking on that statue will sync your current game. This sync is bi-directional and additive, which means that any collectibles will be added to the online collection, even if the character doing the clicking is pre-endgame. It's like new game plus...without having to start a new game.

IMAGE_01_EN.jpg

We're quite excited about this approach, since it lets you take advantage of your collection without having to restart a game already in progress. Also, each character that participates adds to your collection. The sync includes crafting schematics (including those acquired in DLC packs, as long as the packs are installed), potion recipes (but not upgrades), mounts, and Skyhold decorations.

Second, Skyhold now has a wardrobe. It comes pre-loaded with about a dozen outfits of varying colors, each carefully selected to minimize instances of plunging a spiked pauldron into your love interest's face when you kiss him or her.

IMAGE_02_EN.jpg

The default beige is still available if that's your jam, of course, but we heard loud and clear that some (okay, yes, pretty much everyone) of you wanted some variety. To find the wardrobe, head to your bedroom once the game patches.

As with all of our patch content, these features are being added for free.

- Alistair's codex will be fixed in the next patch (though not retroactively). See below.

- Codex entries will not be included with the Golden Nug.

Update (Sept. 1st)

Update (Sept. 3rd)

- Patch is live for Xbox One: Server issues have now been addressed.

- Both the Golden Nug & the Wardrobe will be available in the Trespasser DLC, along with crafting stations, your storage chest and a vendor.

- You will start the Trespasser DLC in the red uniform, but will be able to change your outfit in the Wardrobe afterward.

- You will not be able to change your outfit however in the Winter Palace questline in the main game.

- The Red Lyrium weapons are included in this patch as well, if you hadn't already played the mini-game.

- Patch 10 now live on Origin (PC).

- Patch 10 now live on PS4.

- Alistair's codex is fixed in this patch and will update retroactively.

Feature-1024x543.jpg Dragon Age: Inquisition Patch 10 Notes

September 2, 2015 by Sean Trayner

In Patch 10 for Dragon Age: Inquisition, our focus is on introducing fan-requested features, some base ability changes, and a number of bug fixes.

We’re happy to introduce the player wardrobe. You can now choose from a range of different outfits for your Inquisitor thanks to a wardrobe in Haven or Skyhold.

The winners of the Untold Relics of Thedas contest have been selected, and their creations placed in the game. The relics’ locations are a mystery for your Inquisitior to uncover.

Thanks to prominent Thedosian scholars and Shapers, we’ve implemented a series of gameplay adjustments, designed to customize, improve, and balance the player experience.

We’ve also added the ability for players to consolidate account bound collectibles across games with a newly added Golden Nug statue located in Skyhold and Haven. With it, you can access your herb seeds, crafting schematics, mounts, Skyhold decorations, and potion recipes across your online saves of the same platform. Just touch the statue with your post-game character to get access to this feature. The Golden Nug becomes available if one or more of the characters on your account have completed the game at least once.

Full details on new features to come.

Patch notes in other languages available here.

(Edit - I wrote this before the OT got updated with the info, in case anyone is wondering why I'm just repeating things from Hrungr's post.)

The way the Golden Nug was explained is that once you finish the main campaign it appears in Skyhold and unlocks all your schematics and possibly other items for every other character you have on that platform. It doesn't matter how far into the story your other characters are, so you can get all the equipment even if you've just reached Haven. It's kind of a light version of new game plus.

The wardrobe allows you to choose from what seems like a pre-made selection of alternate outfits that you can then wear in Skyhold.

There looked to be four to five apparently a dozen options, one of which was called "Night's Watch"

Some detail here:

http://www.gameinfor...campaign=buffer

- it’s not quite New Game+, it’s a system we’re calling “the Golden Nug.” Once you complete the storyline for Inquisition, there will be a golden nug added to the undercroft in Skyhold. If you click on it, it synchronizes all of your collectibles to the cloud. Once you’ve done that, things like your potion recipes, tapestries, schematics are all synced up. In future games, even those in progress, you will be able to click on a golden nug in Haven, Skyhold, and Trespasser locations I won’t reveal, allowing you to sync again. Meaning any character [on the same hardware platform] who doesn’t have those high-end schematics – maybe you beat The Descent with one of your characters – you can now access that schematic and craft that armor at low levels. So, if you find a really rare schematic, you can share it across all of your characters – or choose not to. If you don’t click on the nug, it won’t sync.

Sounds very cool to be honest.

Yeah, I really like the idea of never having to collect RNG schematics and other collectibles like mounts again.

Finally, a patch that's actually worth something.  And it only took you almost a year!  Good job Bioware!

No seriously!  I'm standing up right now and applauding you!

Wow, that's great. I aways thought the formal attire was the perfect outfit for the Inquisitor to wear at Skyhold.

Not gonna lie, I'd want a golden nug statue even if it didn't actually do anything. ;)

Let's face it, there's innumerable problems with this game that are going to be left unfixed.  And that's a farce in of itself.  I'm still waiting for male Qunari archers to have their bow shooting arm fixed since Day 1.  But it looks like Bioware thinks terrible animation glitches are better left alone.

So no new Hair Options or Face Codes

Mark already said they screwed up and weren't going to be able to do face codes, and Mike has said that they're going to redo the hair system for the next game (and can't/won't add more options for this one).

Too true DAI is a mess that wont be fixed thank god I can get my RPG fix with The Witcher 3.

I just hope they learn't from their mistakes and that DA4 will have both amazing Hair Options and Face Codes.

Nice that they finally do something about the Skyhold pjs, you know, after they drop support for 360 and PS3.

Apparently dark blue pjs are pushing the technical limits of those systems, amirite.

Thanks for pissing on our heads and telling us its raining, Bioware.

I just want a scene of The Inquisitor standing butt naked infront a fireplace, sipping wine while watching their beige PJs burn. Only then will I be satisfied
