I have a bug to report, I think? (Sorry if this is already reported, I looked and didn't see anything, but I could have overlooked it...)

So, I was looking at the character record and saw the 2 Spirit Blade upgrades, which is awesome! I see Amplifying Blade and Defending Blade. However, when I toggle to Defending Blade (it's displaying Amplifying Blade first by default), it sticks and I can't toggle back. If I go to another zone, Amplifying Blade disappears entirely.

I don't know what the bug is, exactly, as I don't know how it's supposed to work. (Am I supposed to choose between the two and only get to keep one? Or am I supposed to toggle between them as I wish? Are they both always "on?") But I've tested a few times, reloading the game, loading other saves, and this happened every time. Each save I tired was post-game, if that matters.

 

Just wanted to chime in and say I've had the same issue (on PC) and I lost the toggle ability entirely in the same zone.

So since this is the final patch, I guess, in the end, poor Barris will remain eternally broken?  Or did our Devs come to his aid and just forget to include that in the Patch Notes?

It is the final DLC, but I have not seen anything that confirms this is the last patch.

I coulda sworn that I heard mention of that in one of the reports from the Q&A.  I'll be happy if it's not the case, but I suppose I should not hope too hard.

That all said, I apologize for multi-posting, but don't want to be a complete whiner, because the new features in the patch were still as fabulous as I had hoped.  I'm particularly in love with the "Venture Forth" outfit in the Wardrobe, since it's really close to what my Inquisitor wears into combat, but just a tad more casual (in fact, I'd probably use that specific outfit in combat, too, if I could!).  Great job on that, guys!

Thank you for the wardrobe additions. My female Cadash has modeled them all. BTW, did you notice that on the longer coats her curvy butt clips through? What is it, the hunter coats? And on the new silver and gold armor, though not as much. Just something I noticed when she's out in the field running around.

 

I had to double-check my Alistair codex entries. So nice to see him again. I think I found an error:

Alistair remained Grey Warden with his lover, - codex visible

Alistair is king alone, never lovers with Warden - codex visible

Alistair is king alone, Warden is still his mistress - no codex

Alistair executed at Landsmeet - no codex, though this one may be by design.

 

Also, thank you for Nug Game +. I have synched my stuff among my four games.

Well, until today no Alistair codex entries were visible in any of my games, they were all locked. Now the codex cards for the first two games have been unlocked and I can read them. The first two games mages were my allies, one partner (King Ali) and one conscript (Warden Ali).

 

I believe you're referring to this one? Warden as mistress to Alistair as King, finished game, including J of H. Partnered with templars. Alistair is king, verified by history, some dialogs, and war table. But codex not unlocked. Also, the Warden's letter made no mention of her lover the king, but maybe it wasn't supposed to. I can take that as her being discreet.

 

The last pt, I'm in Skyhold by haven't even done Adamant or Winter Palace yet. This one may not be glitched, I don't know if it's supposed to be unlocked at all if you executed the poor boy. I'm just noting that it is locked as of now. This is another templars over mages, but templars are conscripted.

Yes, I was referring to that one. I just didn't know if they wanted to make a codex entry specifically for that situation, as like you said, they may want to keep it discreet. If nothing unlocked though, that's no good.

Awesome, I was delaying getting that passive.

Aww, that is too bad. We have to get just as many of those nodes as plants.

I wasn't able to toggle between the two Spike Trap upgrades (I was looking through the changes at Skyhold, and it seemed like I could toggle between the two Spirit Blade upgrades in Vivienne's tree, but when I tried changing Varric to the explosive trap, it just kept going back to the bleed trap).

I'm not sure if it works differently when out in the field, and I haven't tried actually using the abilities yet, but it didn't seem to work very well at first glance (the toggle button would only come up very infrequently, so I was just doing mouse-over and click on the desired upgrade).

To follow up, I was able to get it to work; it appears the mouse interface is really finicky for these. I think the best chances for success are to mouse over the active upgrade, then hit the toggle button once (and once only—any more than that seems to really freak it out). Using Esc to back out, it seemed to switch correctly (I was able to verify that they were using the different upgrades in combat, though it would be nice to have some sort of visual indicator; the interface here is really poor).

I also noticed that tooltips don't display anymore when I mouse over buttons in the toolbar while controlling Vivienne. It seemed to work normally for all characters but her (possibly related to the new charge counter for Spirit Blade?).

I haven't seen either of the upgrades disappear yet, but I didn't travel around a bunch or anything.

I wonder if the patch addressed the "characters freeze during combat" bug that seems to have been introduced in a previous patch, from a time since I last played the game. 

 

The last time I played the game everything was fine, and in my new playthrough, characters frequently freeze up during combat, and just stand there doing nothing. Switching to that character and trying to move around doesn't work either; the character won't respond to movement commands. The only thing that seems to (at least sometimes) break the freeze-up is using a talent/spell. 

 

I've seen this happen to enemies too, now and then. Most notably in a dragon fight, the dragon froze up when it had maybe 20% health left. Sure made killing it a lot easier, but I'd rather have done it without the dragon being incapacitated by a bug. 

 

So has this been addressed in the new patch (that I'm currently installing), or are there plans to address it soon?

The patch shortened the action time for gathering herbs and metals (the animation seems the same, but you're locked into it for a shorter period of time than before).

According to Bryan, the speed is also further affected by the herbs perk (which may only apply to gathering herbs).

I would love an answer to this as well!

 

The toggle ability thing for some ability's that they added is broken. My spike trap one keeps disappearing and reappearing for unknown reasons. sigh

Oh, well, haha, about that... I'll just slowly walk away with my 600K gold. I'm sure Xenon the Antiquarian will appreciate it. Or anyone in the Trespasser DLC.

I've always tried to give credit where it's due, and yeah I congratulate the team on this patch.

They've really listened to the fan base for the better of the game. Hopefully they can take some more things on board for next the game.  With the ground work done and other Dev teams also using the FB engine I'm hopefully we'll see resources that went into shaping the engine to their will go into some other things such as quest design.

 

Faster gathering animation is very much appreciated. I still wish it was gone, but I'll take what I can get.

The grind being taken out to an extent with the golden nug syncing schematics and seeds is great to see.

I don't even mind the changes to the Knight enchanter. Haven't tested yet, but from what I've read it will suit my new build perfectly as it wasn't based on spirit blade spam. More like burn it all. LOL

Has anyone else noiced since the patch the Qunari Armor you can craft has changed both in colour or lack of it as it's grey and the actual armor (Shokra-taar) on Iron Bull is completely different now to what it was previous to patch.  I'm pretty peeved off as this was not what I paid for when I got Spoils of the Qunari.  Now Iron Bull looks stupid in the change to armor.
