What do you expect for the next Mass Effect ? i mean, do you want to see more humanoid-like species or not ?

Because i think Mass effect should add more species like hannar, elcors, levianthan, they're not human-like.

I want to see extraterrestrials like octopus in crysis or combine advisor in half-life ? don't you ?

I hope so. I would like to see non-humanoids in a larger capacity, instead of everyone seemingly rubber fore-headed humans with three fingers.

come on this is an entire new galaxy, surely they can come up with a few new species that don't resemble humans in the slightest.

We've already seen a new humanoid species in the trailer, but I'm sure there will be new species that aren't humanoid.

I would not mind a squadmate with nice wings like a bird.

To save time and resources I'm sure we'll have more enemies that are designed to operate on the human skeleton just as all the other primary (not Hanar, Elcor, and Rachni) races were.

I think the humanoid design made more sense in the Milky Way since I always figured that the original "humanoid" (Possibly?) Proteans were modifying "lesser" races to be similiar to them (eyes, legs, arms, mouths, opposable thumbs, etc...) so that they could serve as better client races/slaves.

In a different Galaxy however? Our humanoid upward standing frame and limbs have proven quite versatile so I don't think it is out of the question that evolution has created similiar variations elsewhere. I suspect we will see atleast a few human-ish races (hopefully better than asari or drell) but I think we will definetly see some more bizarre and alien species.

The Protheans did not engineer anyone to look humanoid as I think that type of evolution was already in progress for millions of years prior to the establishment of the Prothean Empire on all the different planets.

Speaking of different planets, yes, if millions of years of evolution makes everyone from very different environments eventually look humanoid in the end then the same evolutionary processes should apply to Andromeda's worlds as well.

And quarians should be added to your human-ish list too (so much bias), not just asari and drell, because drell (share similarities with Protheans actually) don't have human faces or fingers to me. I mean Tali and Kasumi can be sisters from this angle:

or just look at Kasumi in a mask:

Look at the neck of a Prothean and a drell:

I've been contemplating this recently, and yes. Ideally I'd like a bit of both humanoid and truly, utterly alien aliens. While part of me feels that it would make more sense to have primarily non humanoids, I've never been hung up on the relative realism of this franchise before, and I'm not going to start now.
