Seems there is a DLC called Dragonslayer coming out soon (or has it already?). The voice actress that did the voice for Isabela is listed for it on Imdb. Says Isabela - Dragonslayer DLC.
DA4 not "greenlited" yet

My biggest problem with the ME series now is that I hate depressing endings and loads of tears in a game. I play for entertainment and like my entertainment to be happy. Maybe the path is rocky, but you get to the sun-setting-ocean-washing-ashore-girl-gets-the-boy-and-stomps-the-villain's-d1ck-in-the-dirt ending.
Yes, I like at least the option of this well put description of an ending. ![]()

And I fully accept yours. To each his (or her) own, after all. Real life has enough misery in it without being forced to swallow it in a game. It's all about choice. If one character path gives you the depresso-fest, while another gives me my sickeningly-perfect ending, all the better. I won't begrudge you yours and you shouldn't begrudge me mine.
... (saved for space)
I don't think the next Mass Effect will be depressing or even 'bittersweet', and not just because of the ME3 backlash.
I think it'll be complicated and intriguing, but actually overall optimistic.
But its hard to explain myself.
Myself, I can take a 'depressing' ending if there is a meaning to it that acts in part of a larger series/franchise arc. I can take Revan having a screwed up (Dark Side) ending if it means something (though I'd say KOTOR2/SWTOR stumbled there). I can take Hawke having a screwed up ending if it means something (still up in the air on that IMO). I can take Shepard having a screwed up ending if it means something. Bring order to this chaos!

I'm figuring EA will want to take their total profit & feedback into consideration once the final DLC is released before greenlighting the next game. The overall picture will help them assess budget & development time frames etc.
and the announcement of the next game would completely overshadow the news coverage of the next DLC and compete for coverage with ME:Andromeda which isn't something they will want either, especially since ME is Bioware's most recognisable current series.
I'm certain there will be another DA game; I just don't think it's in their best interests to tell people that at this stage.
Between this and David Gaider's post, everything I'd intended to say has been said.
For further coverage, see also Mark Darrah's repeated statements of "I'm not worried." Patrick Weekes was elevated to the position of Lead Writer for the franchise, and I don't think the plan was ever for that to merely mean Trespasser.

ME2 had the best of this, and I ended up loving it because I went through all the trouble to make sure my whole team survived and, in the end, didn't have to worry about the crew leaving Shepard's ass hanging out to dry because she was a selfish douche canoe. Having said that, knowing that I could get my happy ending made me enjoy a play through as a complete a$$hole just to enjoy the crappy, miserable ending I never would have wanted to suffer had I not had a better choice for my canon Shepard. Even ME1 got it. We could get the happy ending (kill the stupid council, get the jerk boyfriend Kaidan, and save the day), though it was somewhat bittersweet given the fact that we had to kill either Ash or Kaidan, who were both close to my canon Shepard by the end. Then I had the option to go back and do it again, turning it even more bitter and less sweet by killing our love interest or, callously, killing Ash because we thought she was a species-ist douche (I actually liked her). In other words, we had a choice. And, in all honesty, I was able to enjoy the crappier/sadder endings because I knew I could make the Shepard I most wanted, the one who took names, kicked ass, saved the day, and got to have a beer with her friends and lover after she told Udina to go eat a d1ck. ME3 screwed that all up, however, and made the previous victories meaningless since there was absolutely no path to a "happy" ending for my canon Shepard. In ME3, BioWare basically told people like me to do what my Shepard would've told Udina in ME2...
Heh. I got the opposite reaction my first time thru ME3.
I'd heard that Shepard's story arc would end after the third game. I figured (correctly, as it turned out) that meant death. Fine. Death that others may live was an honorable death, so.....
Then I get to the ending. And Shepard Lives?!? Apparently, since I had also tried out Multiplayer (was bored, so...), I had gotten the EMS high enough that choosing Destruction would not kill Shepard.
O-KAY.....
Headcannon: Shepard (female who romanced Kaidan) gave birth 9 months to the day after the end of the war. Because Kaidan got her pregnant just before Cerberus HQ. ![]()
EDIT: I should probably say that run was before the Extended Cut was released.

More than likely, they are going to give it a year.
Got to remember, BioWare is making a new IP at the moment, so the extra time off from the Dragon Age team might help push that along. I think a short rest is a good idea right now. Give it some time and perfect the formula even further.
Agreed plus in a sense they've only just finished working on Inquisition in a sense so I don't think they'll worry about greenlighting snything until they've got Andromeda's main game out likely as that's going to likely take priority once Tresspasser is released given that's their next major project.

This.
Greenlighting is when the powers-that-be say "yes, make that exact game you're showing us". It is not "go ahead and plan the next game in the series". Every single game made by a development team has a stage where they show what they're planning to build and a decision is made to either go ahead and build it or to go back to the drawing board. Considering how much money is spent on a big triple-X game, it's only sensible.
If a new DA game doesn't get Greenlit for whatever reason, would there still be a way to get the juicy, juicy Lore on the setting?

They're already putting out comics and there will probably be more novels. I imagine those would eventually peter out if they decided not to continue with the series, but they're coming out for now.

Well EA announced they were switching to a longer life-cycle for games in one of their investor press releases a while back(meaning more DLCs and longer time frames between game releases, but probably more focus on creating a quality base game experience and support for the game because that'll be the basis on which they sell future dlcs). I personally find the notion more appealing than annual releases like CoD or Assassin's Creed.
I just hope they release SOME Bioware game at least once every.....1.8 years. I obsessed over Inquisition since November 2014 and I'll need Andromeda to come out in winter 2016 lest I begin to starve.
That'll be 2 year actually

I think they're trying to move toward an annual release schedule with Mass Effect, Dragon Age and the Sekrit New IP that's absconded with most of the DA writer's room. My current bet is Andromeda in 2016, Sekrit New IP Part One in 2017 and Dragon Age 4 in 2018.
