^ So... has anyone thought about the potential personalities that you would like a particular squadmate(s) to have? Any specific race, backstory, and clever development twists that might force you to make a drastic outcome on the future of a character?

That alignment chart is terrible. People need to stop trying to force every franchise into that alignment system.

EDI as chaotic evil? Wat? I assume it's a joke, but at the same time this is why I always remove the alignment system from my tabletop games. They're restrictive and an oversimplification of one's morality.

I haven't thought much about the personalities I'd like to see in Andromeda's squadmates. I just want complicated and dynamic characters--those who cannot be easily defined as "good" or "evil", but simply people with their own individual beliefs and histories. Not everyone agreed with Samara's black-and-white view on justice. Not everyone thought Ashley was an ignorant xenophobe. Not everyone viewed TIM as the villain. I want more of that!

I don't know about personalities, but I wouldn't mind having EDI on board. Always found her interesting.

I thought of it as more of a humorous effect more than anything

Thane and Jacob were the most boring squaddies to ever disgrace our squad. definitely none of that. definitely nothing like Liara either. I don't like anyone who agrees with you too much.

I'll take Javik and Wrex any day. great banter. Miranda, as soon as she loosens up a bit. Garrus always bored me, and his voice actor doesn't have much of a personality himself. Mordin comes along for the medical/educational lols.

Again, I want them to write one -- just one -- character with a more direct and martial persona. Someone who will come on to a PC in the same general mold, and not so much to one that tends to be polite and caring. Someone like Sten, really, but less... idiotic.

I think the difference with Liara was that she thought of Shepard as an idol and "person of interest" right from the start, mainly due to their experience of Prothean technology first hand, among other things :P

Wrex... I think he is one of (if not #1) my favorite characters in the ME universe besides Shepard. His humorous, blunt and aggressive one liners and stories of his adventurous past always cracked a wide smile on my face

Given Ido like all the characters in one way or another in DA's series I'd pretty much keep things coming as they are tbh.

I can throw a few salarians off a cliff if it'll make you feel any better! I'd also be happy to feed you to a thresher maw! and Javik doesn't seem to grasp the concept of rhetorical statements half the time, making him feel inclined to respond. cracks me up.

oh and those two nameless salarians on Sur'kesh always screwing up their faces whenever Wrex said something they didn't appreciate. and last but certainly not least, my tank-grown baby Grunt.

Something like Kai Leng, a modern ninja. A character that is not fully thrustworthy, can even backstab you ( PC ) and leave the crew permanently however can join to the full crew only in certain missions however for his full loyalty the player ( PC ) need to do many tough decisions during different missions, he can be even chased down, hunt down or be killed if necessary.

Spoiler

This is a really bad exaple, only Samara and Mordin are in the correct spot.
If you want to put those characters into that system you get
- Tali lawful neutral
- Miranda chaotic neutral
- Thane lawful evil/neutral
- Garrus chaotic good
- TIM chaotic evil
- Saren lawful evil
- EDI neutral good

I actually really like the sound of that idea! Maybe a potential personalty for a Andromeda native squadmate?

There are many different versions of this on the internetz. In the end, everyone will have differing opinions. I never posted it on the intention of it being serious

If executing unnarmed combatants on the spot is now considerd lawful good then society has severely degraded.

Another science nerd like Liara, but a young man this time instead of a young woman. Perhaps a quarian?

A hard, take charge older woman, sort of like Two in Dark Matter, or Cassandra.

An elcor pilot - for laughs xD

I really liked Morinth, I want someone like her, but just a bit less emotional, less serious and more playful in a slight goofy way. A character without a moral compass, with no tears in the backstory that is completely satisfied with who they currently are, what they do and is not afraid to fail or die. A character that never regrets anything they've ever done.

Strong silent types. No moral degenerates.

No 'effeminate' morality. Not from squadmates, and sure as hell not from the protagonist.

I want someone like Grunt, someone who just likes to hit things and doesn't complain about something every time I talk to him. That story about the dead turian? 10x more interesting than hearing the seventh squadmate complain about something.

Screw it, just give me an all krogan team. Let me be krogan.

What is that?

Basically, characters (or at least characters the narrative is trying to sell as heroes) should never beg, plead, whine, or even request virtue from others, friends or enemies. They should demand it. So when a character gleefully suggests an innocent person be murdered for whatever silly reason, the response should not be to whimper "Please look into your heart. Is this the right thing to do?" It should be getting in their face and telling them that's not going to happen and making sure they know that sort of attitude is unacceptable and will be punished.

Mass Effect has thankfully done a very good job of this overall. The biggest failing was with Javik.

Getting rather boring that all companions like each other, so yeah a few that cant stand any of the others, i preferred the Morrigan v Lelianna interactions in DA:O to anything since either in DA or ME
