Morning, All. I've just started yet another play-through....this time with a female Dalish mage (named Immianthene), but I can't decide on whom I want to romance this time around. In previous play-throughs (playing as either Humans or Dalish) I have romanced Cullen (twice with each species of opposite genders to Cullen), Cassandra (twice with my human males) and Josephine (three times, twice with the same gender)....And I have enjoyed every single play-through. I enjoy each story arc for different reasons which I will expand on:
Josephine's romance (while it doesn't have a 'sex scene' like, say, Cassandra's- that could be implied) but I enjoyed her romance story because it was 'sweet' (I know that's cliched but it's all I can think of as an adjective). It has a sweeping quality of innocence and a realistic touch of "girl/boy meets girl....they spend time together, they like each other, they develop feelings for each other....etc" and it has a touch of 'old fashioned romance' to it, both in terms of how the characters are written and in terms of the scenes.
Cassandra's romance: As stated in a previous post, I really like Cassandra's character in Inquisition....I love watching her go from 'tall grumpy Seeker who enjoys stabbing things' (Varric's words, not mine) to passionate, down-to-earth, soft and gentle Woman' who "wants the ideal romance: poetry and flowers and someone to sweep her off her feet." And while there is that mash-up of emotions that she deals with, I enjoy seeing how that all plays out on screen...And the fact that it culminates with a 'sex scene' is what I see as the best expression of that relationship which the Player/Inquisitor has worked to build. (And the scene isn't just T&A for the sake of T&A, nor is it gratuitous just because....I thought it was done just perfectly, as I do with all the romance scenes I've played through)
Cullen's romance: I never romanced Cullen in DAO, nor really had much to do with his character so I can't say I 'know' him as well as other characters, but in Inquisition I enjoyed his story for much the same reasons as Cassandra's. Watching/hearing him expound on his past... his regrets, his anger, his struggle to confront his lyrium addiction...and really bare his soul to the Inquisitor.....Then to see him become this softer, gentler, yet passionate and loyal man was equally fulfilling to watch. And in particular if you're playing as a Mage (of either Dalish or Human origins) there are several scenes and unique lines of dialogue which I think are quite poignant and intriguing.
I have yet to experience a romance playthrough with Blackwall, Sera or Solas....so therein lies my question, I suppose.
If I choose between: Blackwall, Sera or Solas....Who do you think has the better (deeper, more meaningful, more interesting in terms of story and...perhaps more 'content') romance to complete the story arc for my chosen character (a female Dalish Mage)?
All opinions are welcome and explanations as to your choice and preference would also be helpful.
