The Inquisitor Dying would be the best way to end the new DLC.

Maybe we should table the discussion about what is or isn't an rpg, since the previous thousand times it was discussed, it went no where.

I see nothing to discus. Long story short there are basically 2 distinct opinions.

1) You put states level up your character and so one.

2) Dialogue choices decisions to define your character.

I don't really care much for gamplay as long as it's clean and self explanatory. I don't really care for inventor. I don't have problem companions dressing as they want. Actually i think it would be better if ME be just pure shooter with dialogue and flavour off you have impact on story.

Well, killing off the protagonist is BioWare's usual MO these days. I'd actually be surprised if they didn't.

It seems they can't muster a way for their protagonists to retire gracefully. Personally, I'd love to see something like Witcher 3 ending for Geralt, but it probably never gonna happen, cuz it's not artsy/angsty enough. But whatever, after ME3 I couldn't care less about BioWare's protagonists.

I already had this discussion with someone, but my stance to that is basically -- we shouldn't always have full control over situations like that. Characters (including our own) should sometimes due to previous choices that aren't as simple as click 1 to live, click 2 to die. We should be able to make choices and have consequences for them, but not be able to play mini-god

Different development teams, no? Although, ME did it right where characters could die due to choices like not upgrading the ship or their abilities/weapons, opposed to DA where it's choose 'A' to have these people live, choose 'B' to have these people die.

ME2 is one of my favorite games in the series, because of how I could make choices that effected my ending.  I enjoyed making the decision whether or not to upgrade the ship or go save the crew right away or wait and then seeing what happened and who died. But I never totally failed, though I lost most of the crew once.

But I also enjoyed deciding what kind of Warden I wanted to be.   One who wanted Loghain dead, but willing to let him be seen as a hero so let him fight the arch-demon or a warden who put her lover on the throne and was going to die to keep him safe.  Or even a warden who hadn't really wanted to be one and was quite happy to let Alistair take out the arch-demon.

I'm trying to figure out choices I could make through out the game that would have effected the ending choices and as it was, I can't think of anything other than not recruiting a group and then not destroying the arch-demon as one more ending option.

No. Maybe an option for it for people that want it but Bioware says choices matter. They will keep their word this time. They were already burned once with ME3...

Some of us already know what will happen in one scenario, but choices are something I vote for and hope are available! I've never seen a DA game without a choice that can alter your fate.

But they never correct their error and made a REAL DLC with a few endings more (even endings where Shepard could die).

I don't care if there is an ending in which my Inquisitor can die, as long as there's one in which she can live

I think it very well could be an option. BioWare have said that your actions in Trespasser will determine the legacy the Inquisition leaves behind. There will probably be multiple endings and so the Inquisitior could die in one of them. I didn't mind my Shepard dying, because I felt that after three games I was ready to see it happen. With the Control ending I didn't feel so bad about it. I'd rather not have my Inquisitor die now as I don't really think I've known him for long enough and I don't think it would feel very gratifying.

We'll just have to wait and where Trespasser takes us  ;)

I'll take an option for the Inquisitor to die.  It would be nice to start a DA4 run with all 3 of the main characters gone, and then have another guy with all 3 alive.  More choices, can't go wrong with more choices.

I can foresee some options for the inquisitor's end, one being death, one being imprisonment and the other being to just disappear.

A forced death situation would be just lazy and unimaginative. Other than the mark killing the inquisitor, there just isn't a threat big enough in the DLC that would warrant it, even in a "sacrifice" type of situation. Solas isn't about to kill you, friend or foe. The Qun aren't gonna be the ones. "You fought and killed an immortal ancient God wannabe with unimaginable power, and died in a fight with the Qunari...".

The only realistic death could be by the mark or being captured and then executed by Orlais/Ferelden authorities. The only sacrifice I could imagine would be if it was some cliche like "the mark is gonna kill us all! You need to touch this thing and remove it but it will kill you too!".

And I stand by saying Solas won't kill you. He's not meant to be seen as "evil". They want him to be in the grey, him killing the protagonist would put him firmly into the "evil" category, even if it's for the "greater good". It would just be too much for his character, not to mention he really would have no imaginable motive (though him needing the mark, or needing to destroy it, I concede could be motive enough).

I think if my Inquisitor dies and Solas sees her agony, that would be a pretty good revenge for him leaving her. Or if she dies alone and he finds her body and realizes she died alone... I'd like such an ending.

.

The best ending for Dragon Age Inquisition is: To have the choice WHAT happen to our character: Living and having more adventures, living with romance option, living with romance option & 37 1/2 children, becoming an ashole and burn half of Orlais / Ferelden, dissapear (in the fade?), dying like a hero, dying like an ashole and so on .... What I still wishes for ME3 too, by the way ....

A choice that Bioware somehow dit not gave us in DA:O and DA2. Both characters are "missing" until now. For a game-series whitch talk so mutch about decisions we can make, it's a bit a shame that until now, you could not decide the destiny of "The Hero of Ferelden" and "Hawke". :(

Sorry for my english. :)

I only see those possibilities:

- Inquisitor dies

- Inquisitor go into veil and disappear.

- Inquisitor lose the anchor.

I think removing the Anchor is enough of a definitive end. Perhaps with the end of the Inquisition being more or less inevitable. The Inquisitor him/herself can be allowed to ride off into the sunset at that point.

Actually I'm not nearly as attached to my Inqy as I was my Shep,
So I'd be ok with him dying.
But it would def affect replayability unless it is done VERY well.
And BW knows how to do it, very well.
Just look at Mordin and thane's deaths-exquisite.

And the Inquisitor sings:

I am not dead yet
I can dance and I can sing
I am not dead yet
I can do the Highland Fling

I am not dead yet
No need to go to bed
No need to call the doctor
Cause I'm not yet dead.

Companions sing:

He is not yet dead

That's what the geezer said
No, he's not yet dead
That man is off his head

He is not yet dead
So put him back in bed
Keep him off the cart because he's not yet dead.
