I'd a liked it for this DLC to have the advisors pick up there weapons an become available to pick (well maybe no josie, but she did say she was a bard at one point or nearly), they could been great replacements for ppl who coulda been dead or well disposed.
No idea who im taking tbh, cant rightly remember each play through i done an i know i never did all the companion quests in every play through, so that could have a huge impact
My current pre-endgame DLC team are Blackwall, Sera and Solas, but obviously that'll need some tinkering. My Iron Bull has been excommunicated from the Qun for saving the Chargers so I think I'll take him along with me just for story kicks. I'm a mage so I've got the barrier spam covered anyway.
If I play the new DLC twice it'll be my other playthrough, with Quizzy Rogue, Cassandra, Varric and lovely Dorian. Assuming Cassandra is there, she's the Divine in that save.
It will rotate, since I have three playthroughs, but in one of them, I forgot to do Iron Bull's companion quest, so he might not show.
My team will be Best Friend Divine Cassandra, Kadan Iron Bull, and Cole.
I let Blackwall rot in prison so he will be dead. I got pissed that when I rescued him, commanded him to go to the Wardens, he STILL says at the end 'Im gonna stick around for a while.' umm how about you honor my judgement and gtfo jerk, just because I felt you were possibly worthy of redemption doesn't mean i want you around. So now I just let him rot.
Mhm, Lavellan rescued him and since she didn't like the Wardens, she told him to continue his lie. I mean, I roleplayed her as an astonishingly cunning Dalish who enjoyed the Game and wished to hide his crimes. Also, greater good before that one life he saved in Val Royeaux.
Needless to say, he wasn't pleased at all and didn't want to talk to her anymore: "blah this is none of your business I can't believe I was so much in love with you". I collected Warden's artifacts, took him to the Hissing Wastes where he actually told me a funny story - but back at Skyhold, he should have been named The Grumpy One, hehe.
That's when she switched to either Bull or warriorless party.
Cass/Varic/Solas are my main team. Three original companions, three with the strongest ties to the story and the three with the more support/team oriented specializations. With Solas gone post game, I'll probably take Dorian along instead.

probably Iron Bull because its the Qunari... Cole because of his friendship with Solas and the third either being Cass or Varric though undecided. I like Cass as my main warrior but Varric is the one with the unfortunate encounters with the Qunari...
damn why can't they just have a thing like when your entire team is there and fighting alongside you like in DA:O...

My 'canon' Inquisitor will take her core team: Blackwall, Dorian and Varric. (Assuming Blackwall didn't die during his joining during the two year gap, which would be a mean trick to pull on those of us who romanced him ...)
Cassandra is definitely going with my Quis.
And then either Varric or Sera (Varric was part of the main team for the majority of the game, but I've grown so fond of little Sera...)
And last but not least it's either gonna be Vivienne or Dorian. Probably Vivienne because she's Divine so I want to know how things are going and how her personality has become.
Though I have multiple playthroughs where I try to mix up my teams, so all characters will get pulled through the Descent eventually.
Blackwall, because he's my Browall by another... Mowall?
Sera, because bros do not deny fembros their Qunari women.
Vivienne, because my psychiatrist calls the discovery of being attracted to malicious women who hate my guts, "progress at last".
Depends really on my protagonist.

I just don't like the others well enough. Sera I barely touch her (need a dictionary on nonsense with her around), IB is not my cup of tea. Vivienne....no just NO!
For this DLC though
Cassandra (she is the head of the Andrastian Church after all in my game)
Varric (love some snarky comments plus I need a rogue)
Iron Bull (want to see his reactions when I slaughter some Qunaris)
