So Krogan are appearing in Andromeda.  However because Bioware has not made it canon on whether or not the genophage was cured for the Milky Way Krogan, the Krogan in MEA, would have had to have left the galaxy before there was any chance (or failure) of the Krogan being cured.

Which means either.....

1.  The Krogan in MEA still have the genophage, keeping Krogan civilization in this new galaxy from reaching a huge level.

2.  Krogan that left did have genophage, but it got cured sometime before they reached Andromeda (or after).

Which option should Bioware use?

Perhaps they didn't have a cure, but they did take a lot of fertile females? I mean, it'd be a logical thing to do if you were looking to re-establish your civilisation.

They could also have recruited a krogan that was not on Tuchanka when the genophage was cured.

This is ofcourse not very logical, but I can imagine a krogan would be capable of keeping people in line.

I would expect a great deal of ret-conning regarding Krogan reproductive rates, and perhaps even the genophage itself. I would also expect that the genophage will not be an issue in MEA. It was very much tied into Turian/Salarian vs Krogan animosity. I would expect them to explore new themes and issues in MEA. Thus, I would expect that to the extent it is mentioned, it will be stated that the genophage has been cured without saying how it got cured.

Wrex died in my playthrough, so his brother Wreav became a tyrannical chieftain of the krogans. The genophage was a necessity if they did follow the Citadel fleet to Andromeda, a race of warmongering alien can become a problem.

If the Krogan wasn't on Tuchanka when the genophage was cured, how would it explain that Krogan having the cure? How would the Krogan seen in the Omega dlc get the cure? The same for the Krogan in the Rachni mission if the genophage was cured before dealing with the Rachni.

If the Krogan was on Tuchanka when the cure happened and ended up on the ship/ark/whatever to Andromeda, then they would be cured.

The ship/ark/whatever could leave before the genophage mission and during the game, the Krogan in the game get a cure.

I'm sure Bioware will figure something out.

The Krogan were adapting to the genophage at some point before ME2, right? Had the STG not developed a modified genophage, they would have overcome it. I'm thinking that MEA must take place so far into the future that the Krogan would have naturally evolved past it, regardless of whether or not you cured the genophage.

Maybe. Only thing I can think of anyways.
