Yep, again only noticed since Descent, but it does make that dlc particularly difficult when both Cassandra and the dwarf guy just stop.
Single Player patch? Companions doing nothing during fight will be fixed?

This is something I have been seeing since December time frame. For me, it's mostly the ranged classes. I hate it when I'm fighting something and I see some of my party just standing around doing absolutely nothing. I would be surprised if it gets fixed. There remains many bugs in the ranged toons. I know of several that remain with mages and archers. Some making certain trees in both pointless.

By now, is it safe to say there will be no fix for it? Come on, Bioware. Some light, please.

It is safe to say that, yes.By now, is it safe to say there will be no fix for it? Come on, Bioware. Some light, please.
If an enemy gets close enough to them, they can sometimes break out of it now. That's as much as we're going to get.

It would be nice to see more singleplayer bugs like this fixed, sadly I'm not very hopeful there will be anymore patches considering that there done with DLC.

Downloading Patch 11. Almost 3GB!!! Some SP fixes, but most related to the last DLC. The bug mentioned in this threat, the most serious bug IMHO, is not addressed, according to the patch notes. That's very, very sad! Sadly, it seems that Bioware only fixes crash causing bugs and MP these days. They used to care...

Uh, no, they never cared.Sadly, it seems that Bioware only fixes crash causing bugs and MP these days. They used to care...
Inquisition is by far the best supported product BioWare has released in the last decade. By far.

In any case, I wouldn't be holding my breath for a fix at this point, since it's been some time since it first appeared and it still hasn't been patched, so it might just have to be a thing you play around.

This bug where AI will just freeze up and get stuck in place happens frequently for me on PS4, very annoying. hope they fix it!

Sadly, no. Ancient history. By what I read in other topics, a lot of people were "graced" by it. I just can't understand why Bioware doesn't give a word about it. And just releases MP patches.
Because MP brings them money and because they don't care? Seriously there are so many unfixed day one bugs and issues remaining to this day and nothing's been done to fix them (one year anniversary soon BTW). Also, this bug seems to be present in action cam only.

I've noticed that on Blackwall, and I have a feeling that it came even before the Trespasser (with the patch 10).

A few patches back, I think? I don't think it was there to begin with, anyway.
It seems to happen mostly when I'm messing around with tactical camera? Maybe connected to move to point? Or at least mostly in the dragon fights for me, and they're the ones where I'm fiddling with companion placement.
Pretty sure it's got nothing to do with the tactical camera. I get the bug very frequently, and I practically never use the tactical camera.

I've encountered this many times and not just on Dragon fights, I tried the jump to the non responsive character and doing the jump but when I switch back to my character an I look back the Archer or Fighter is still jumping in place and not engaging the enemy. I've had limited success with Disengage as they all come running back to me and when I go to engage the enemy my 3 companion's are standing behind me twiddling their thumbs, I literally have to jump to each one engage the enemy and then back to my character and I can usually get through the fight.
It almost feels like when In DA:O where you unselect the group so you can move them around to unlock pressure plates or you want to disable traps and you select solo and they stand around, that's what it feels like in DA:I.

I've recently been noticing two forms of this bug. The first is the one everyone's been talking about, a companion stops in his tracks, but you can jump start him by, well jumping. This is annoying but by far not as bad as the latest problem I stumbled across. In the second bug a companion will attack but only with his basic attack and will use no spells/abilities unless micromanaged, this really kills the experience for me. I googled the problem thinking it might be recent only to find that people have been having this problem for at least 7 months now, would be great if Bioware could fix this.

That "just basic attacks" bug happened to me the first time I started with Descent, but saving and reloading the save solved the issue and it didn't re-appear. In any case that seems to be a bug that occurs very infrequently, and, as said, saving and reloading returns things to normal.
The freeze bug, on the other hand, occurs maybe in one in three fights for me. Very frequent.
(I'm playing a rogue now though and at level 20, she's powerful enough that she could solo the game, so I don't always notice when my companions are frozen. The funny thing is, I thought I'd picked the weakest specialization for a dual wielding rogue: the artificer, but I've found it to be both a fun class for a dual wielder to play as, and a very, very powerful one. The sigil that doubles my stamina, halving my stamina regeneration + upgraded elemental mines + very high crit chance..... total carnage. )

Known Issue. No Fix.
Personal belief is that it's an conflict/disconnect somewhere between the game's AI and the FB3 engine.
Fingers pointing at both BioWare and DICE, but no resolution in sight.
Only work-around currently available is to select the "stuck" characters and assign an action (or just "jump") to un-freeze.

Why would Bioware fix this? The game is playable as-is. Just play in Casual Mode so that freezing does not matter. Problem solved. ![]()

While the bug is annoying, it's not too difficult to tell a character to jump to unfreeze them, but does anyone have any ideas how to unfreeze enemies? I've tried to push them with abilities and it doesn't seem to work. I've had bosses freeze while I'm fighting them and it makes it really boring and easy.

Happens with my characters all the time, I have to take direct control to get their sorry arses moving again. I also have problems with my character, where they won't break from auto attack, I lose control over them.
