I think so! This is Russia's new APC!

it's just a precursor to the M29 Grizzly you find at Port Hanshan's garage
LOL I actually never noticed till now! You are right! The MakOV! ![]()
We have already had similar military vehicles (Called 'Pasi') since 1980's, so nah.
Why'd they have to paint it baby poop green?

(A bad attempt at)Camouflage?
The general design of the vehicle has been around for quite a long time, and was what inspired the design for the Mako.

There's an example.
This is pretty old Soviet APC design, from mid 80s. So Mako is based on it,if at all.

That was before they were born, therefore it was the Mako which inspired the design for the vehicle.
Wheeled armoured vehicles (like the Mako) have been about for over a century.
Early experiments of adding armour and weapons to soft skinned civilian vehicles began in around 1902 with the French Hotchkiss firm, but other firms also developed the concept pre WW1 (including Ford with the Model T scout car. The concept was war proven in 1914 by the Belgian Army's use of the Minerva Armoured Car, the Russian Putilov-Austin Armoured Car, but it was the UK's use of the Rolls Royce, Austin and Crossley Armoured cars that had wider impact on warfare.
Wheeled APC's did fall out of fashion in some armies in the 1930's and early ww2 (Being replaced by Half Tracks in the US and Wehrmacht) but this was reversed during ww2 in the Wehrmacht with the SDKFZ 231,232, 233 and 234 Puma armored vehicles. The Puma was possibly the greatest of these vehicles and served as the prototype/proof of concept for most post WW2 wheeled armoured vehicles.

Time travel confirmed.
Driving the Mako... it was glorious.

If they added dextro-puke to the inside of Tali's helmet, it would've been perfect.

And remember, this is what people wanted back in the series.

These People are like Garrus in the Comic.
Looks like a BTR to me.

Wouldn't be much good in Australia's desert...., or any desert for that matter.., and it wouldn't be much good in a Jungle.., it's too big..., typical Russian vehicle.
Rubbish.

Cheers
Does it run on Vodka?
Actually, if you take a look at the Mars Rover, at least I think, you'll note that it has six wheels.
This is by no means an accident. A vehicle with four or even eight wheels is more likely physics wise to flip over than a vehicle with six wheels. And if it does flip over, a vehicle with six wheels is much more likely to right itself. Of course, this doesn't go for the Mako in ME1. If you flipped there, you were pretty basically fucked.
Does it run on Vodka?
Only the driver does.

I've always wanted it back. That pic reminds me of fun times that I had with the Mako and that's why I posted it.
It was heartbreaking to see that beautiful machine stuck in the snow in Alchera and then be forced to leave it there.
If you flipped there, you were pretty basically fucked.
Sometimes just trying to drive worked, not always though.
