You all are probably going to tell me this is a L2P problem, Working as Intended™, lolCollectors, or something of that ilk, but does anyone else find it infuriating that Collector Captains can take you from full health to drag-assing in one burst? Has anyone else seen this or is it just me? Granted, I was playing a GE, so once you get shield gated there's not a lot of health left, but I was playing yesterday, on my host, and twice ran around corners and was instantly downed with full health by a single Captain, so fast I couldn't dodge, Ops packs, or anything.

Marauders are already a ****** with their Phaeston 3000's, but Captains put them to shame. So think about it Biower. Not to mention they have more health and can get possessed and spam Seekers non stop.

It's not a L2P problem, Collectors captains can indeed kill you almost instantly, saying **** to the gates. But that's just one element of how dumb, frustrating and infuriating Collectors are.

This reminds me of the time when I did the Next of Kin from the N7 Challenges (Collectors/Dagger). I think it was wave 9, the wave when there's only 1 Collector Captain. He shield-gated me, I killed him, he spawned behind me and fired a burst right away. And since I was still gated, I bought it.

 

I find the captioning very appropriate.

I agree. I ****** about Geth bullshit as much as the next guy, and maybe it's just b/c I haven't unlocked the Bartender yet, I hear he takes care of Collector bullshit pretty readily, but in sincerity, I think the Collectors are the trolliest and brokenest of the factions.

Agreed. Geth stagger fest is annoying at times but I take it over Collectors BS any time.

A Geth runs around the corner with full shield and health and dies by a Collector Captatin, whereas a Drell runs around the corner without getting hit.

Phantoms don't kill you in one burst from full shields. EXCELLENT. And they even have on-host DR that makes half the weapons a chore? WOW..WHAT A MASTERPIECE DESIGN 

Atlas rockets totally don't hit you after you seemingly dodged them and they're out of sight. PHYSICS LAWS MUST NOT BE DEFIED. 

Banshees absolutely don't teleport through walls and sync kill you. EXCELLENT DESIGN BIOWARE.

 

Collector captains kill you when you stand right in front of them? F***! WHAT A TERRIBLE DESIGN. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE BS. MAKE THEM LIKE MARAUDERS OR DRAGOONS CUZ THEY TOTALLY DON'T DO THAT.

Praetorian homing missiles gives you time to retreat while atlas missiles and prime drone staggers don't? WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU BIOWARE! MAKE PRAETORIAN MISSILES INSTA-HIT.

Scions and praetorians have weak points and are easy to stagger-lock. TSK TSK - TERRIBLE DESIGN. SHOULD'VE MADE THEM STAGGER PROOF.

Seeker plagues lock you out of powers and reduce weapon accuracy? TOO EZ MODE BIOWARE. MAKE THEM MORE LIKE GETH TURRETS THAT SPAWN BEHIND YOU OR LIKE CERBERUS TURRETS THAT CAUSES A HUGE REVIVE FEST.

Am I the only one who prefers playing vs Collectors over everyone else? Reaper banshee scream fest, geth stagger fest, Cerberwegotwounded fest can get stuffed - gimme those PosAbom explosions and Praetowhoomwhoombzztwhoosh any day.

I don't mind there being a faction where every unit is buffed compared to the next faction (yes, Collectors).

 

However, I do mind one faction having a unit with absurd damage reduction, with a ranged attack so powerful a GT with a cyclonic loses all its shields in 2-3 hits, and synch kills you when you get too close. A unit which many times requires a specific weapon or power to nullify effectively. Thanks Phantoms

Yeah, Collector Captains seem to not GAF about shield gate or health gate at all sometimes. It seems to be worse off-host.  I played a game a couple of weeks ago where my Asari Adept with R3 fitness and full barrier was downed by a single burst from a Captain.  Multiple times.

Yeah, but don't you love it when you get to pay them back with interest? When you shoot your Proxy Mine and they stand perfectly still, thinking they are safe in their bubble, only for you to headshot them with your Javelin or Widow? Or when your Kishock sends their corpse flying half across the battlefield? Or when said Kishock's harpoon goes through their head and their lifeless body slumps on the ground? Or when your Krogan slaps the phantom around like the lil b!tch she is?

 

Or when you give her the ultimate offense and kill her with Tech Armor?

I don't mind Collectors..the Collectors in ME2 on insanity were wayyyy harder than they are in MP..they have the least amount of diversity in their faction..which equals a lesser amount of BS... I know..butt lazers...but thats about it with them..possessed armor just takes a few more seconds to get thru...all you got to do is be mindful of the swarms and you are good to go....also another reason I like the Collectors...20 Head Shot medal by wave 3.
