I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else so: Cowboy music and space? Rings a bell?
Firefly anyone?
I mean they did say there was a reason for their choice of music. I like to think we're going into that sort of direction. Thoughts?

What direction would that be?
I don't know, I don't work for Bioware
But something mercenary-y maybe? Or as it was mentioned before, "accidentally walking into bigger events", instead of following the story of one character? It could also be just a feel to the game. I was looking for more suggestions from you guys ![]()
"Cowboy" country music reminds me of the overall humanity morale which still remains the same as on Earth was. The morale and culture might be the only things that will still live on with humanity to the Andromeda Galaxy.
Well, you said you'd "like to think we're going into that sort of direction." But other than cowboy music in space, you failed to define a specific direction.
My take, people are looking way too much into the song choice. It's a Johnny Cash song. Country. Reminds me of the frontier. Space is the final frontier. Seems fitting.

God, I hope not.

Just a suggestion, no need to get defensive.

What exactly are you talking about? I'm not getting defensive. And you never made a suggestion.
I sincerely hope that take as many Pages as they can from Firefly's Book.

I don't understand all the Firefly praise. I tried watching the movie and only made it about fifteen minutes in before turning it off. Haven't seen the show.
Firefly is Firefly. ME is ME. We don't need Firefly made from ME. I really like Firefly though.

I've seen the show, as well. It was okay, I guess, but nothing to hype about.

Check out the first three, four Episodes of the Show then tell me that you're not interested in it.
Seriously, though, Firefly is one of the best Shows of the new Millenium and it's Cancellation was a Crime against Humanity. It had Humor, it had Drama, it had Action and it was all in the right Amount. Any Story should aspire to be like Firefly, ESPECIALLY one that gives of a "Space Western" Vibe.
In a word, no.
Cowboys in space worked for Firefly, because that was the intent from the get go. Mass Effect is classic space opera - bring on the French horns and ambient synths.
Don't worry BW stated that the game music will be something closer to what we generally associate with ME music.
That track was chosen because of the lyrics and the exploration (wild west) feeling that provides. No reason to fret

I will never, ever say those words, and I have literally read everything Asimov ever wrote, even the nonfiction. ![]()

I'm pretty sure I heard Gustav Holst spinning just then...

...Goddamnit it.
I hate ME's music with a passion. Worst part of the series, in my opinion, including the ending.

It also had Joss Whedon, which only works in small doses before becoming fatiguing.

Wow, that's a first for me. I've never heard anything but loads of praise for Bioware's choice of music for their games. That, voice acting, and character story arcs are what I've always considered them consistently good at delivering.

I think their music in Dragon Age has been good with the exception of the end credits songs for the first two.
But the music in ME? The score is fine. Nothing to write home about but there's nothing wrong with it, either. But the music, the stuff that plays in the clubs, plays on the radio in your cabin, the actual music that exists in universe? I cannot stand that noise.
