An idea for the Golden Nug!

So I had an idea for anyone interested in using the Golden Nug to transfer their schematics between characters. For this example, let's say you have 2 playthroughs, #1 and #2, and you want them both to have all of the schematics. Let's also say that #2 has much more gold available.

Alright, let's load up #1 and sync it, then #2. Now, make a save in the undercroft and travel to the Black Emporium. Use #2's gold to buy as many schematics as you can. Load up #1 and sync it.

Now here's my idea: Just reload the save from #2 in the undercroft! Now sync it again, and you should have all of the schematics you just bought in the Emporium, but all of your gold still! Now you can travel back and buy more schematics, rinse and repeat at any location with schematics B)

I'm very sorry if I overlooked something that prohibits this, but I don't think so. I'm not sure if the schematics will double-up in the store or if they'll disappear.

I hope this helps completionists everywhere! :)

Seems legit to me, but I wonder if they wouldn't regard it as an exploit?

I'm curious as to how all this is going to work, actually. I have two games, nearly 100 hours played in each, and there's probably a lot of overlap with known schematics (I used and abused the save scumming early on). Does each profile synced just fill in any blank spots in the previous, adding them all to the "cloud" as it were?

Yah this will work, but generally those that are completionist would have already use the dupe from the storage chest to get them already.

I believe it is 100% additive. So you can never lose things that you have unlocked with the golden nug.

I've never let the little guy live long enough to give him any schematics.

That's great news.

I have to say, this is a really pleasant addition. It'll facilitate pretty much everything I could want from a NG+ without trivializing the difficulty too much, and I get to look great from the word go on all my new characters.

Thanks a lot, guys! Super, super psyched for Trespasser.

You mean duping things to sell so they can buy the schematics? I'm sure a lot do, but this is a lot less hassle and works across playthroughs.

Anyway, thanks for the info. I'm glad this will work and the feature in general is awesome! =]

No I am saying people probably already did this in their completionist playthrough. So they can just sync from there.

How do I dupe with the storage chest. ?

Head over to the Undercroft in Skyhold.
Access the Party Storage Chest.
From your "Inventory", put the item you wish to duplicate in the Storage Chest.
Look for the item you wish to duplicate in the "Storage" sections, and press the buttons corresponding to "Withdraw" and "Back" (in that order) very rapidly.
You should have one of the items you wish to duplicated in the "Storage" section, and the other in the "Inventory" section. You can withdraw the item from the "Storage" section to your inventory.

Another great thing about that is it means that we'll get a lot more use out of schematics we find in Trespasser, since we can use the Nug to have them earlier in other playthroughs! (Assuming there are schematics). Yay!

Yes, I'm excited :P

Ah, okay. I'm sure some people have, but hopefully this will help the rest.

In my experience, pressing them at the same time works well on the xbox one. I'm sure it varies though.

I also press both buttons at the same.

If this works for amulets of power, then I hope this exoloit doesn't get patched out. I'd love to be able to use it to get as close to a true NG+ feature as possible.

I'm gonna go ahead and headcanon that they patched this in when everyone justifiably lost their minds when they patched that - and all the extra amulets of power - out.

I keep getting amulets for all my companions. But none for the inquisitor.

Materials? Can't check now since I'm away from the game, but I don't think you can store those, can you?

Correct you can not store mats in the chest and there is no "true" way to dupe them.

The only one I found was in the Deft Hand, Fine Tools room in Crestwood village.

That's the only one you can find.

There is another amulet as a reward from the war table, but it requires a certain outcome at the Winter Palace.

All characters work that way now (there's one that's more or less guaranteed and one that's only available through certain story choices), except possibly Dorian and Sera, who can only get one as far as I'm aware (Dorian's is so difficult to acquire it may as well not exist, while Sera's is one of the guarantees).

Holy snazzles! Good idea! My second character really has a lot more money than my main, since my main's the completionist one!

Hah! I'm totally gonna do this :P

Hi, not to derail the thread, but could you please let the devs know that we really need tooltips to come up on the power bar on PC? As of right now, when you hover over a skill in the power bar the name of the skill only comes up, and when you're in combat you can't open the Power Menu to see what certain skils do. It gets very complicated and many of us would appreciate this being added in the next patch or so.

(Please reply, even an "This is not possible." would be good!)
