I find it more thrilling and more BSing. In the vid, I am invincible. I'm merely demonstrating how having no HUD affects sniping. I suck at sniping on PC, and that is clearly demonstrated in this vid.

I had the cinematic mod on(Slightly tweaked by me so I don't suffer heavy fps drop). Since the mod allowed me to add wide screen bars, I said: Why not? I absolutely like the widescreen bars, but it does block the HUD.

It looks a lot better on the raw video, but it's like 8 GBs, and I don't think I'm going to wait 3 days for that to upload.

Having played one of the Halo games with a bunch of modifiers. I know how hard it is to aim w/o an aiming reticule.

 

I would be tempted to use a melee kit (but that probably defeats the purpose anyways). I guess the Revenant would finally work as intended though ...

Eh, I live with it. The framerate you see in this vid is what I was playing on. I'm glad that it doesn't drop to the point where it's unbearable for me when I'm recording with FRAPS.

I wish the game would include the option to turn on/off individual parts or all of the HUD. I wish more games would get on board with this.

 

If it were me, I'd like to be able to leave the weapon reticle and nothing else, other than perhaps weapon ammo, as long as they don't have to include a picture of the gun you're using, as if you can't already see what you have equipped in your player's hands already.

 

On a side note, I think a lot of games have too much on the screen in general.

ME2 had a dynamic HUD for both health and shields since it fades away when you're not hit. Perhaps that would work again.

SFXModule Health and Shield would be a place to look. Also the GUI files.
