Explosive ammo works very well on the Reegar/Acolyte geth trooper 6/6/6/6/6 build.
The trick is to strip the shields off the enemies with the explosive-ammo-enhanced reegar or acolyte, then flamer them. The explosive ammo helps strip the shields by a non-zero fraction of a percent.
Quite complicated, I admit, but it works! Try it

I have tried explosive ammo on every single weapon...there is no such thing as fun.

LOL!! Why on Earth would you take weapon damage for 6b on the passive? Burn a reset card and spec for reduced weapon weight (6a). It helps with the decoy spam!
