Seriously, I just got a case of the feels when I joined Iron Bull in laying his chargers to rest.  :crying:

I only ever did that particular choice once in all my playthroughs. I... just can't go through that again...

But what of the Qunari alliance? It's important but if Bull saves his chargers you lose the alliance, yeah?

Yeah, but Gatt even mentions that Qunari don't know how to negotiate or do the alliance thing.. and with Qunari trying to kill Inquisitor in th trailer for the new DLC I have a funny feeling it won't matter much in the end lol.

Plus, I could never sacrifice the chargers again, those guys are awesome and the one time I did I felt so guilty but I wanted the long war table op chain at least once that's from the Qunari alliance thingy.

Never trust an elf, especially a Qun elf.

Say no to the fake Qunari alliance and yes to the Chargers.

I felt absolutely nothing for the Chargers since they were written purely for that choice to have some emotional weight.

Indeed so. I appreciated the excuse to end that "alliance" I don't trust. And won't that distrust prove true in "Trespasser"...

I never sacrifice the Chargers. See what happens in Trespassers DLC anyways, they break the alliance.  <_<

If it makes you feel better, the alternative is no funeral for the Qunari on the dreadnought. The number might be more or less in Thedas, but real-life dreadnoughts had crews of several hundred people.

They keep doing their duty while the Inquisitor takes a page from Loghain's book and leaves them to die. Not even Cole makes note of their deaths.

(speaking of Cole... uhhh... brace yourself for more onions the next time you talk to Cole and/or have a party containing him and Iron Bull)

What I never got the point of, was even having the Dreadnought there in the first place. If it only take three mages to take down a Dreadnought (which is mainly due to them stowing excessive amounts of Gaatlock on board) why didn't we just take out the smaller smugglers ship with some Mages on land? I mean, hell, you've got three in your inner circle who I'm sure are more than capable of flinging as many fireballs as needed from shore. Why have a massive dreadnought filled with people in the first place? Part of me thinks that there couldn't have been THAT many on board the Dreadnoughts, as such a large number of Qunari floating about the borders of Ferelden would be seen as a very, VERY dangerous and provoking maneuver.

Anyways, i only ever sacrificed the Chargers once. Bull's dialogue with everyone is cut short when part of the Qun, and I like my companions talkative. Also, I like watching Krem scrabble all over his chair in the Heralds Rest. The amount of wine that guy put away while talking to me, no wonder why he can't seem to sit still.

Jones you let the Chargers die? Why? For an alliance with a society that strips away individuality? The Qunari break that alliance anyway two years after it was made. They see the Inquisitor as the ultimate threat, they want him/her dead asap. Screw the Qunari. My Qunari Tal-Vashoth honors the Tal-Vashoth with Qunari statues all around Skyhold. Those glorious Qunari statues are Tal-Vashoth. I even have some Tal-Vashoth joining up as I see them around Skyhold. I just hope we can burn Par Vollen to the ground in Trespasser.

I don't know anything about the upcoming expansion but I've gathered from here on the forums that it involves the Qunari attacking. At the time I was doing what was more beneficial for the Inquisition.

Yeah, no surprise there whatsoever. It's what I expected, especially since my main Inquisitor is a mage.

Par Vollen is too beautiful to burn. But throw the qunari out, definitely. Too bad you can't burn a philosophy to the ground. Anyway, things this big are unlikely to happen in a DLC.

An alliance with them has no effect on the Inquisition. With or without them, the Inquisition still triumphs. The Qunari only wanted the alliance because they were afraid of the threat of Corypheus. The Inquisition absolutely does not and will ever need an alliance with the Qun. There isn't a power in Thedas that can beat them, which is why everybody decided that they need to be disbanded in Trespasser.

Sacrifices have to be made, no need to dwell on it. It was for the greater good. War is hell.

This is all metaknowledge that the Inquisitor doesn't know at the time. If we didn't have Player Character plot armor, losing access to the Qunari's reports on Venatori agents could have had disastrous results. It only takes one lucky assassin to take out the only person capable of stopping Corypheus.

We also don't know that the Qunari in Trespasser have the full blessing of the triumvirate. They could have gone rogue, like the former Arishok. Indeed, even if they have the triumvirate's blessing, the goodwill we earned with Gatt and Tallis could still end up helping us.

This along with the fact that I haven't finished the game yet so I don't know how anything is going to play out.

Everyone assumes helping the qunari will be the "bad choice" already , what if helping the chargers results in Bull getting killed in the DLC? Their first attempt at an alliance resulted in 100s of their own getting killed and just reaffirmed that Tal-vashoth are A-holes (from their perspective). Just because a group of qunari are attacking doesn't necessarily mean your alliance no longer means anything, we'll have to play the DLC and see. Bioware might do the unexpected and deem the alliance the choice that has the most overall positive outcome, who knows.

By Qunari? More hate, more fuel for the fire. Good.

I have yet to do a playthrough where my inquisitor fell for that Qunari trap, so I haven't seen the scene yet.    Just started a "worst results" playthrough though so should see it soon.

To me that whole mission was a pretty obvious setup by the Qun to destroy Bull's non-Qunari ties.
