This is just a case of bad implementation imo. You shouldn't have some sort of special rewards which can only be found out by going to the games forums. I had no idea about these weapons or even talk on weapons until I came here a couple weeks ago either. The idea of having high tier weapons only dropping from one source is fine and increases how long people will play the game, but only if they know about them.

I'm pretty sure the best weapons only drop in NM. I've only got good weapons from NM dragon and never from Perilous dragon....
Oh I used to farm Perilous for high level Dragon weapons but I'm pretty sure they've been removed from the dragon loot table because I haven't seen one since they started appearing in chests.

I remember this thread from the ME3 forum: "Helpful loading screen tips for pugs"
There are a lot of things that could go on those cards that are pretty helpful like: Barrier misses players that are cloaked, combos and their detonators, Inquisition informants are squishy on perilous and above, Map set to random? This loading screen is a clue as to where you're going.
I'm sure other people will have some more ideas.

The level 26 blues and purples can both drop off of perilous dragons. I know, I have seen it with my own eyes.

Right. But if I recall correctly, the loading screen in ME3MP kept the SP loading screen tips and we made fun of that. That was a fun thread.

Tip: If you are disconnected on wave 4 do not kick the cat, use the time to go for a soda.
Tip: If you release a Revenant from a chest room, lead him back to the party and then go into stealth.
Tip: If you select Nightmare, Fereldan Castle is auto selected for you.
Tip: When playing wave 4 of Darkspawn, hang back and let your team handle the bolters.

As game nears the end this is what people write and request for the final resource time from BW?In the beginning of every match we get 3 pointless and redundant cards to "read" while waiting for things to set up. This is usually info like "warriors break walls" and "rogues pick locks". Well how about adding something useful like "killing Dragon on perilous and above may drop level 26 weapons unavailable in chests." I don't know how many perilous runs I've made which someone runs ahead of the group and unlocks the next stage before anyone can use a Dragon call. Them when you get on mic to ask why, and if they knew about the level 26 weapons, they had no idea and just figured perilous Dragon drop the same useless blues and as all the other chests.

I hear you, but it is not unreasonable to suggest that new game mechanics be provided to the player base directly in game. They can do a pop-up like the weekend event when new mechanics are implemented. I did not know about the lvl 26 blues either until a week later. Can't they just make a pop-up that says "New items in store!" or something to that effect.

This, remember in ME2 every time you signed in you got a little message of the day? It can't be to incredibly hard to implement a ticker at the load screen. At the end of the life cycle is exactly when you want these things, so people relize there's something new to grind for, instead of just giving up.

So new players join now and don't leave after a week because of all the new content and this is a good suggestion to make such tips for new players
Where else can I learn about 26 lvl purple weapons about their blue predequisites about important changes in skills game mechanics and so on...
Two months ago I started to read this forum and learned about DAIMP more than from 8 months of gameplay
So I think this tips is a must for all players and not seeing them is devs attitude to players IMHO
