I just started Multiplayer a week ago, and I only have the Reaver unlocked.  But so far I have gotten the full 3 colors sets of T2 armors from the 3 free unlocked classes from chests and nothing else.   I have crafted the T2 Dread Reaver Mail but it actually has lower AC than the T2 Keeper one.   I don't see any crafting option for better armors for Lego, Archer, Keeper, or Reaver.   Do I just have to open more chests and wait?

Oh when someone said their promotion is 50/50/50 does it mean they promoted their rogue class characters 50 times, warrior class 50 times and caster class 50 times?   So a total of 150 x 20 levels?

To get better armours to show up you need to keep crafting the ones that are available to you.  There will in essence be tiers of armour for each class.  Some tiers will not show up until you craft all of the lower tiered ones.  You should be able to unlock other classes by crafting a set of their armour.

Yes to be able to promote you need to get to level 20, promoting puts that class back down to 1.  You start off with, hmph what is , I think 10 in each stat to start so to get to 50/50/50 you would only need 40 promotions from each class type.

When you promote one class it gives you that bonus for all of your characters.  (Thus promoting a rogue class such as an archer will give you plus one to cunning for all classes going forward.)

Someone will correct me if I have erred in any of my comments above.

Just keep playing.

There are different levels of armor, some are connected, and it's kind of difficult to explain how they are connected.

You start with the original classes with the default armor unlocked.

You can get a drop of the default armor for the other classes to drop from chests, or you can craft them to unlock the classes.

Once you have the default armor unlocked, you have 2 levels of choices to craft.

From the Default armor, you can craft 3 upgrades (we will call these the "Default armor upgrades").  These have a label on them in parenthesis, for instance, you can craft the Legionnaire Armor (Perseverance), (Fortitude), etc.  These will have an armor rating higher than the default armor.

In addition, you can craft two additional armors.  One will be called the Inquisition Armor and the other will have some other name, like Knight Captains armor.

The most noticeable thing about these armors is that they do not have a designation in parenthesis after them.  In addition, they will give you less armor than Default Armor Upgrades.

However, they will unlock the highest level armor.

You can only get armor drops for the tier you have unlocked.

1.  You can get Default armor drops for all classes if you haven't unlocked the class yet.

2.  You can get Default Armor Upgrades drops for classes you have unlocked.

3.  You cannot get Inquisition Armor drops, or the other named armor drops.  (Or at least I haven't seen them drop).

4.  Once you unlock the Inquisition Armor, or the other named armor, you can them get the upgraded versions of these to drop.

I believe that is how it works.  Honestly, it's a little confusing.

I think there maybe a bug somewhere for me then.  I started with Inquisition armors for Legio, Archer, and Keeper.   After playing those 3 for a while, I got enough mats to craft the Reaver Mail to unlock the Reaver.   After that I only played the Reaver and got all 9 blue armors for Legio, Archer, and Keeper from chest drops within a few days.   They all have 120-130 armors - 3 colors per class.    I then go ahead and crafted Dread Reaver Mali which has 119 armor.  I didn't craft the Captain version because I saw it on the Armor thread and the Captain version didn't look that good.   Now a week later and no armor drops since the 9 armors dropped in the first few days.   I could craft the different colors ones for the Dread Reaver Mail.... maybe if I craft all 3 versions it will unlock the next tier?

The way the system is set up is as follows (as of about a month or two ago, it wasn't like this at launch):

There are currently 4 levels of armor for each class which dictate how much armor they will have.

The base armor, which you get when unlocking a class is level 6. The can be crafted or found in a chest.

The color variants for the base armor are level 12 and can be crafted or found in a chest once the base armor is unlocked.

The upgraded armors are available once the base armor is crafted and they are level 10. Upgraded Armors in this case refer to either the secondary armor set (in your case the Dread Reaver set) or the Inquisition Captain's set. These can only be crafted.

The upgraded armor color variants are level 15 and can only be crafted.

So, for the sake of ease of communication I will call these as follows:

Base Armor (level 6)

Base Variant (level 12)

Upgrade Armor (level 10)

Upgrade Variant (level 15)

On top of all of this certain classes are in higher loot tables. This means if you're new to MP you're going to have a small pool of classes you could theoretically get from chest unlocks (though you can craft whatever you want).

The tiers for these are as followed:

Tier 1: Keeper, Legionnaire, Archer

Tier 2: Templar, Elementalist, Assassin, Hunter, Reaver

Tier 3: Katari, Necromancer, Alchemist, Arcane Warrior

Dragon Loot (threatening and above): Virtuoso, Duelist, Avvar

Hope that helps :)

Armor just has a low drop rate.

(I'm still a newer player myself, so if any of the more expereinced players know that this is incorrect, please step in).

For instance, you start with Legionnaire plate, it has 76 armor.

You can immediately craft Legionnaire's Plate (Ironbound/oathbound/stonebound) or wait for these to drop, they have 138 armor.

You can also craft Legion Commander's Plate (LCP) or Legionnaire's Inquisition Captain's Plate (LICP), these have 119 armor.  I do not believe these can drop.

Once you have crafted the LCP or LICP, you can now craft the upgraded versions of these armor, which have 184 armor.  Apparently these cannot drop. (~>.>)~

If you are, for instance, wanting to play templar, you can either craft the starter Templar Regalia, or wait for the drop.

For Reavers:

For instance, you start with Dread Reaver Mail, it has 76 armor.

You can immediately craft Revaer's Mail (Dragonblood/dragonbone/dragonbreath) or wait for these to drop, they have 138 armor.

You can also craft Dread Reaver's Mail (DRM) or Reaver's Inquisition Captain's Plate (RICP), these have 119 armor.  I do not believe these can drop.

Once you have crafted the DRM or RICP, you can now craft the upgraded versions of these armor, which have 184 armor.

Dread Reaver's Mail Dragonbone

Dread Reaver's Mail Dragonbreath

Dread Reaver's Mail Dragonblood

Reaver's Inquisition Captain's Plate (Endurance)

Reaver's Inquisition Captain's Plate (Fortitude)

Reaver's Inquisition Captain's Plate (Perseverance)

Apparently these cannot drop. (~>.>)~

If you are, for instance, wanting to play templar, you can either craft the starter Templar Regalia, or wait for the drop.

Just to make sure this point is explicitly clear: if you craft Dread Reaver's Mail (<Blank>) with the <Blank> being Dragonsbone, Dragonsblood, or Dragonsbreath...that new armor will be the best armor in the game for the Reaver (level 15 with 184 armor).  It is equivalent to Reaver Inquisition's Captain Plate (<Blank>) armor -- the only difference is looks.

Dread Reaver's Mail (<Blank>) is better than Dread Reaver's Mail

But neither of those (nor the Inquisition armor) will ever drop from a chest -- crafted only.

I see.  I thought the Dread Reaver's Mail (###) is the same as the Dread Reaver's Mail just different colors.   I wish you could try out the armors before you craft them.   I want to see how they look before I spent the mats! :P

Someone could probably made an updated version to showcase all the new characters on the first page instead of having some of them on page 5.

Thanks everyone.  I think I got it down now!   BTW, I just want to say that I think the starting Reaver armor looks much cooler than the higher level one.

One stop shopping for you:

https://docs.google....Wv8Gw/htmlview#

And if you look under the crafting armor page, at the very end is a link to every armor in a YouTube video to show it off.
