What exactly in the lore keeps darkspawn from being cannibalistic?

I never protested against it. Just thinking that it wouldn't end with him eating the other. I'd picture a great magic battle seeing as they were magisters and all.

And they were more well mannered than darkspawn. Seeing as Cory had his personality of a High Class magister that thought everyone else was a slave.

I just don't see a magister choking another then eating him.
But this is why I said I think being cast out of the City had a different affect on each of them.

It's in WoT V2 and I'm paraphrasing a lot. Sometime after the first blight when Cory was running around he was imprisoned.

 

Then some centuries later 3 of the other magisters have an argument in the deep roads and have seemed to have forgotten their origins (unlike cory) One of them eats the other while the third runs off.

Amazing that anybody is able to cut through the ridiculously laid snark in those obnoxious codex entries. Really a shame that such a poor explanation is given for such important pieces of lore..

I don't feel as if he went around eating people but like I said I never protested him eating him I was just surprised that the Magisters didn't have a magical battle showing their vast power. I don't see two powerful mages settling things in a choking death match.
