I am not sure the DAIMP team would be working on MEAMP.
Some of them like I bought points in ME3 because there was something worth unlocking and it was very early in ME3 MP. DAIMP just doesn't have the weapon and item progression that would make it worth buying platinum or paid dlc, item progression would of been nice.
The problem I see is that in DAIMP, you are kind of locked into an engagement type.
Archers and casters want to be at range. Rogues and warriors want to be in melee range. (I know there is some minor variations to that).
Changing your weapon doesn't normally change this fact.
But in ME3MP, changing weapons could change your whole playstyle. Just unlocking a new weapon might change how you played, at least moreso than occurs in DAIMP.
For DAIMP, there is a best in slot weapon that you are aiming for. Maybe there is some variation for off hands for dagger rogues, but otherwise, the BiS items seem pretty definitive.
But for ME3MP, there just felt like more variety in terms of what weapon you could want to max out for your personal effectiveness.
Edit: I think this lead to more general replay ability and, most likely, way more RMT.
There was just more stuff you could get and not be disappointed. Whereas, in DAIMP, there seems to just be a smaller number of things you would want to RNG for.
Not to say I loved ME3MP RNG, just the difference as I see it.
