I like that about damp a game that rewards progression and time spent. Don't understand why they'd end it so premature with a system like that but whatever.

afaik the DAIMP-MP-team had, has, and will have nothing to do with the ME3-MP-team ... so I don't quite understand everyone's fear

and even if ... I think they learned their lesson, that ME3MP was way superior to DAIMP

Naw Im pretty sure it is possible to move people around into other projects. Thats what all big companies do.

And yeah ME3 MP was far superior then DAIMP ever was.

I blame EA for not investing enough resources into the DAIMP Team. Mp was pretty much in an alpha state when it was released. I never had so many bugs and crashes in a released game for quite some time.

The main problem wasnt only the huge number of bugs which made the game unplayable, it took them more then 4 months to fix game breaking bugs.

That was the main reason why DAIMP failed.

Pretty sure this game had a dedicated team for the MP, Mass Effect didnt so I dont think a lack of resources was the main reason they failed. The bugs while bad were not the reason many of us stopped playing. It was down to the design decisions, i.e. promotions effecting character stats (forcing you to promote), weapons effecting power damage, very little though being put into power combo's (cross class combo's is a joke compared to ME3's approach) and of course the lack of weapon, map, character choices. Ultimately many of their design decisions stifled variety and this was the biggest failing of this game

I own both games since their release, am a big fan of both franchises & absolutely happy about the addition of an MP in both. Still I played way less MEMP than DAMP. Something about it just motivates me more.

That's just to say statements like those are fairly absolute, in a very weird way.

As someone still happily playing (but as having said numerous times before, I myself play 2-3 matches per evening, so I'm far from burnt out) I also dislike

  • The exact way promotions are handled, i.e. making a character greatly less fun the first very half of his brief career
  • Only 1-2 top tier weapons per (similar) character. There should be way more similar DPS high end gear, if only variety's sake. I just hate it personally when the bottleneck of top tier is so narrow everyone ends up looking the exact same in online RPGs

Just two nitpickings:

  • The MEMP did indeed have a seperate team from the very beginning
  • Personally, I vastly prefer the characters from DA over ME's helmets
