promotes make you invincible? Wtf how? I take maybe 5 more hits than most of my friends with 100ish in everything. Plus we promote to get games done faster and so we don't have to rely on noobs and using 3 abilities to combo one guy when we can kill 3 in the same time. Ps I will pass silver again. So long as I can stay off witcher.

I'll be playing less anyway and not because I'm tired of DAMP.....  The wife is getting a little sick of my gaming so I've to reel it back in a little :(   I cried a little inside after my lecture.  That and my eldest is starting ANOTHER club on Thursday so that's Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri evening I have to face the real world....

 

You should play Witcher until Christmas!

130 mark is meaningless just a little more of this or that than 100 mark. If your looking for a mark Kmeeg did a excellent chart, 170/170/170 is the most significant mark

The real problem is with diminishing returns. The whole system is backwards.

 

As you start off, promotions are hard to get and don't really give you appreciable differences. As you gain more, they get easier to acquire. As as you acquire more, they become increasingly beneficial than the point before it. That's really the problem. The promotion rich get richer at a faster rate than the promotion poor. When you are sub 300 promotions, its hard to justify doing it because its hard to see or feel a benefit and as you reach higher promotion levels, you see less resistance to getting promotions.

 

In practically every other RPG game, each stat will reach a point where it takes a tremendous amount of effort to gain a small benefit (diminishing returns) sometimes to a point where it is not worth it. DAIMP is backwards in that regard.

You are setting a mark for when promotions become more significant than your skilllvl

That is a meaningless term looking for mark where promoting becomes more important, promoting provides the mark of best return for the effort, 170 is that mark, to get close and not achieve it does more disservice since the differences from 130 to 150 to 170 is extremely significant. If your promotion then have a goal of 170 or lower goal of 100 not the lala land of 130
