She was chosen because of that and even Andraste fought in her time, its not strange for a Divine with magic or martial prowess to fight. That was before she was coronated as a divine.
She would not be the first leader to fight in the front.

Considering that the Chantry was almost destroyed when the last Divine and obvious successors were killed it would be prudent for Cassandra, or any chosen Divine, to work on rebuilding and not risk more chaos with another Chantry downfall by putting herself in harms way when she could send soldiers and resources instead. Don't get me wrong, I love Cassandra, Vivienne and Leliana and welcome them back into the Inner Circle but it just doesn't make sense for them to risk their lives considering recent events. I could see Cassandra itching for battle despite concerns but not so much Vivienne.
Then just dont use them and say to them to stay at the Chantry, its not like you are going to be forced to use them.
Not the point. I'm saying that it would make more sense if they don't volunteer to return to the Inquisitor's side in battle, making themselves unavailable regardless of our wants.

It's how games roll i know , you first learn of the land history and tradition in a cutscene or a codex entry, then by your playthrough the whole lore is screwed.
Not one divine fought in a battlefield they have left/right hand and flocks of faithful at their command , i appreciate some tradition.
Yeah, it's not like the Popes of our own world have ever led military campaigns or maintained private armies.
Then too bad, its not going to happen. Not the point. I'm saying that it would make more sense if they don't volunteer to return to the Inquisitor's side in battle, making themselves unavailable regardless of our wants.
Then please show me where is the codex that sais a Divine cannot fight. It's how games roll i know , you first learn of the land history and tradition in a cutscene or a codex entry, then by your playthrough the whole lore is screwed.

It is possible for Dorian to say he is sticking around. I don't know what the trigger is for that though, maybe he sticks around if you don't reconcile him and his father? I know he says he is sticking around if you do the IB/Dorian romance.Looks like all of them. Dorian and Varric, regardless of your relationship with them, say that they're leaving once they defeat Corypheus and two years later they are back in the trailer. It's possible that they stuck around for two years but I would prefer if they returned out of friendship or barring that a summons from the Divine, though Dorian would be under no obligation to obey it. Perhaps the members of the Inner Circle who left will only return based on their approval of the Inquisitor. Having them just stick around for convenience after they say they're leaving is kind of cheesy. There is the question of Blackwall however. Isn't it possible to have him executed?

However it should be noted that it has been stated that depending on your choices some companions may not return. For example I recall reading that Cole doesn't return if you didn't do his quest.
Don't worry Inquisitor don't miss Cole.

Do know where I can find that statement? I'm pretty sure Dorian says that he's leaving, even if you romance him. Perhaps he mentions that he will stick around for a little while but after two years I would expect him to have departed back to Tevinter. I can see Cole not returning especially if he makes you forget him and Blackwall if we left him to be executed, though as with Isabella it's possible he escaped his fate. Any Companion that we neglected to recruit or that we exiled probably wouldn't return either. I'm curious if approval will factor in? Would Dorian return if we punched him?
Dorian doesn't say how long he's sticking around.
