I played DAI on PS3 with a male inquisitor archer i romanced Cassandra and my party consisted of Dorian,Blackwall,Iron Bull and cassandra on a regular basis.

Im just wondering what would be the best way to play a second playthrough on PS4 and which class and companions would be the best to use?

After that I'd play a female mage of a different race who takes Solas, Cole and Sera (switched out for a warrior when you need one). That's just me tho.

Just know that Tier 3 LongSword schematics are scarce, and the best ones are locked from normal means of acquirement. So if you want to be a Warrior, just take that into consideration.

For Mages, there are three specializations: The Necromancer(Dorian's), The Rift Mage(Solas's), and The Knight Enchanter(Vivienne's):

Necromancer - Specializes in fear and controlling the dead.

Rift Mage - Specializes in weakening and crowd controlling enemies.

Knight Enchanter - Specializes in close-quarter combat, heavy damage, and being a tank on the battlefield.

I find Rift Mage and Knight-Enchanter specializations to be the most useful.

Depending on what specialization you're going for and what kind of element you will be utilizing the most will determine what kind of mage you want to play as and what will be the overall best build. If you can specify those, I can probably suggest some.

It depends what gels best with you. For instance, I immediately became attached to Knight-Enchanter because I always role Fighter/Mage when I can in an RPG. I like having a flexible character who is comfortable with close combat as well as ranged combat.

If you're just looking for the most powerful build then here...

P.S. make sure you use a lightning staff to have every element at your disposal. (As Energy barage takes on the element of your staff. if you're not going with Knight Enchanter, you can replace Energy barage with chain lightning+Arcing Surge to circumvent this, though that does mean you'll still have to invest in Energy barage to get the passives, Conductive Current & Static Charge.)

These skills will be complementary to any specialization you choose.

Elemental Skills:

Storm:

Active

Energy barage

Passive

Conductive Current
Static Charge

Inferno:

Active

Immolate+Wildfire
Fire Mine+Searing Glyph

Passive

Flashpoint
Cleanburn
Chaotic Focus
Pyromancer

Winter:

Active

Fade Step+Frost Step
Winter's Grasp+Winter's Chill

Passive

Mana Surge
Frost Mastery
Winter Stillness

Spirit:

Active

Barrier+Elegant Defense
Mind Blast (Only to get the passive, don't use it)

Passive

Guardian Spirit
Strength Of Spirits

If you also want to be able to revive your party, replace fire mine with Revival+Lifeward

the focus skills in my opinion aren't worth a slot so don't invest in them.

Make sure to invest skill points in the inferno tree first as well as Fade Step+Frost step from the winter tree.

Anyways, I only played on nightmare and it was a breeze, though that isn't saying much. Again, it all depends on your play style and role-playing preferences.

Hope that helped.

I'd highly recommend a full playthrough with Cole and Solas, recruiting the templars to get the full Cole experience. They get along beautifully and understand each other like no one else does, it's really a touching and unique friendship. For the warrior spot, Cassandra is an excellent fit for these two due to some pretty awesome banters with both of them -- but Blackwall works quite well, too, despite a bit of a rocky start with Cole. Swapping Cass and Blackwall around for maximum banters, or taking both at the same time to see how they get along both before and after Blackwall's quest, is also quite fun.
