Currently you can't find a NM match that's not FC
Maybe because of the gold challenge..... just saying.

Players (like me) are kind of like lab rats, we do what reward us in no matter how nominal and silly reward maybe. The following seem to be the Pavlov responseMaybe because of the gold challenge..... just saying.
1. Run FC NM until all Hakkons plus master amulet
2. Run old maps to complete 250 NM run Traveler Challenge
3. In non PS3/X360 world Run FC for gold and new weapons
4. Run HB for the 5 Challenges
5. Back to FC for gold and new weapons
6. Once we get gold and weapons we will run FC because of additional experience since there is nothing to be gained from old maps
7. Once Gold done and bored set top Random
8. Go to old maps for weekend challenges if solo is needed
the above will be modified since the new DLC/Patch/Challenges etc.
But think we have 1M gold from each map, how many runs you think we did? Ugh

Eh? You re saying that everyone has complete their map gold challenges and that is the only one left? I highly doubt that has anything to do with the over volume of players on that map.

2. Run old maps to complete 250 NM run Traveler Challenge
If only it worked that way for me, I would have stopped playing FC a long time ago. I have completed the Traveler challenge twice over on FC alone, still only 4 Hakkon weapons. I am sick of this map.
- Grind it for dragon weapons.
- Grind it for your friends so they can get dragon weapons.
- Grind it because the rest of the community needs dragon weapons and no other maps are being played.
- Repeat steps 1-3 for Hakkon weapons.
- Repeat step 4 for level 26 blues and purples.
- Possibly repeat step 4 for new gear.
Well, i guess for (a few?/ most?) veteran players FC is getting old as well, isn't it?
FC has been out for four months. It is getting has gotten old. Playing one map with no variations gets old much faster than playing three maps with four variations on each of them.

All this topic is going to lead to is a buff to the Dragon; which is pretty understandable. (Awaits ninja from Luke)

Another point to make is that even if you kept the best loot isolated to FC why not have the chance to get it from fighting the faction bosses there. I get it that they want to make it so that you work for the super unique drops and all of us have our own preferences to how and what % chance we acquire those drops but good God it's like all the top tier stuff got crammed down those dragon's throats. Like I said before, in my ideal world there would be a chance depending on the difficulty to get some awesome stuff from playing the other levels too so that the grind got switched up a bit. I haven't thought about how many problems this idea would create but what about having a Templar commander call or demon commander call if spending resources is part of the devs prerequisite for obtaining the lvl 26 weapons.
What do you have against the dragons?

Your effort most certainly does not mean nothing. You'll still outperform those who don't have the gear or experience that you do. And it will still take people an age and a half to get Hakkon weapons from chests, as opposed to killing nightmare dragons. All bosses should drop loot dragon should have best regular bosses second best higher difficulty you play the better the loot get rid of this buy your way in with platinum/gold farming rubbish. Put in the time and win with gold your rewarded for merely looting pots and dieing. The reward should be reaped for the victors and people who put in the work to be a victor not weekend warriors. This is my first day ever posting on DAI forums and its out of pure frustration with bioware making my hours of effort mean nothing I decided to say something.

And how would you categorize my countless hours spent playing the same map over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, with no drop from the dragon? Would you call that frustrating? More frustrating, possibly, than the opportunity for other people who have played the game for a long time having a small chance of getting a weapon in a chest?
Truthfully, I don't know how I feel about putting Hakkon's weapons in chests. On the one hand, maybe, just maybe, I can finally get my Hakkon's Valor without having to endlessly grind that one map. On the other hand, what was the point of the last 400 Nightmare runs on Ferelden Castle? Just a huge waste of my time, I guess.

I'm just bored to tears of FC in general. It wouldn't be so bad if you hit "Random" map and only got FC 1-in-4 times (an unweighted 25% chance.) But NOOOOO...someone in their infinite wisdom decided to weigh the probability of getting FC to where you are likely to get it at least 50% and as high as 80% of the time. Even if that means it puts you in a FC match all by your lonesome. I know I probably p!ss groups off, but as soon as I see it's yet another FC run, I immediately back out before the match starts.
It's the reason I suggested over two months ago to re-design the match menu to allow you to select (via check box) which maps you want included in your "random" encounters. It'll never happen...if one does FC, then folks want to do the dragon. And to do the dragon, you need the hammer. And to get the hammers, you need to have plenty of crap to salvage. And in order to get plenty of crap to salvage, you either need to grind until your fingers bleed ORRR (and here's the key here, kids) pony up and BUY some platinum so you can get the chests to salvage the crap to make the hammers to fight the dragon. Once again, it's all about the moneys.

Can now get Hakkon weapons and 26s from chests. Granted odds are terrible and its faster in most cases to get them from the dragon but request granted.

I think we are not playing the same game here... You're literally the first person I encounter on forum/in game that complains about not having enough material to make dragon calls... and btw, you do not need to "play till your fingers bleed" so you can make a ****** dragon call.

The real question is... Do the Hakkon weapons still drop in NM dragon?
I haven't seen a dragon weapon drop on Perilous dragon since they added them to chests.... I'm wondering if this is going to be the same for NM dragon.

First off, I'm hardly the first (and likely not the last) to have voiced consternation over the acquisition of hammers. So if you're going to level such an accusation, may I humbly suggest you play a bit less and read a bit more. Secondly, the phrase "play till your fingers bleed" is a little device we folks who use words like to call "hyperbole." Again: play less, read more. And finally, with the statistical weight of preference given to FC in public matches, you would indeed have to grind to get enough materials to use a hammer each time. Thank you for taking the time to display such a wealth of useful and accurate information.
PS Bite me.

If you do not have mats. That means you do not play enough hence this should not matter to you much anyway ![]()
