It's been nearly 15 years since Origins. It makes sense that Teagen has aged.

Hell, what makes less sense is how many other characters haven't. Morrigan looks the same. Alistair looks 5 years older max. Anora looks the same. Leliana actually looks younger than in Origins. Loghain kinda does too.

Varric and Cassandra are among the only returning characters who actually look older.

DAI Loghain does lack the silly racoon eyes DAO Loghain had so probably why.

And Vivienne isn't the Divine in every playthrough, so what? It's just one of the world states.

It'd be rather asymmetrical for Fereldan to send an ambassador to the trial while Orlais sends the monarch. Then again, the trial does seem to take place at the winter palace so this could make sense. But if that's the case I wish they would have put Alistair/Anora in there instead -- I missed Anora in my play through because I sided with the templars instead of the mages. :(

I disagree. Varric, Dagna, my Hawke Cass and Loghain look far better then their old counterparts.

Dat Willem Dafoe-ness :P

Teagan was Ferelden's ambassador to Orlais the last I heard anything about him.

Yep, confirmed in "The Masked Empire"

Look at any real world politician and they get old fast. Don't believe me? Look at any president from Start of the term to the end of it

That was my first thought on seeing him as well.

It would be difficult to make Loghain look more aged than he did in Dragon Age: Origins.

Considering what little Mike has said about the Orlesian fellow on the tribunal, I don't think it's supposed to be the monarch. He made it sound like he's a brand new character.

I don't get it, we saw Teagan in act 3 of DA2 and/or MotA (which aren't that many years before DA:I) and though he'd been hit with the DA2 ugly stick, he didn't look 60. It's even weirder since Loghain is older than Teagan and looked waaaay older in DA:O but in DA:I Loghain looks younger and if this is really Teagan then he looks much older than Loghain. Meanwhile Alistair, Leliana, and Varric haven't aged a day...

Maybe it's Gamlen? :D

I feel like Cullen looks older, having just played DAO and DAI, I  can see the progression... I kinda miss his goatee though.

He always had ugly facial hair and a long nose so I don't really see the difference.

Is it confirmed that the trailer guy is Teagan? That might not be him, but some new guy. After all, the trailer shows the masked man talking when Teagan's voice actor is heard.

Well, we're just going to have to agree to disagree, then. :)  I, personally, don't see any advantage to blowing off two nations that surround Skyhold when being pragmatic and going along for now could be more advantageous.

Respect and resolve. If you're not going to send a leader to meet a leader, then I won't bother either because it must not be that important. Also, Skyhold is well fortified. If the nations attacked the Inquisition they would lose no matter what.

Laidlaw confirmed this in an interview.

And you say this because...? I'm pretty sure Orlais alone could topple the inquisition, especially if you didn't specialize in forces/military.

Orlais and Ferelden don't have to attack Skyhold.  They just need to block the pass into the mountains and wait.

I don't, it did not fit him at all imo.

All Orlais and Ferelden need to do is block the passes and supplies, it will be Wardens Keep all over again.

Orzammar and Deep Roads. Plus, Gherlen's Pass is on the Ferelden side. So it would be difficult for them to defend it alone. I doubt they would want to bring Orlais in to help occupy Fereldan soil.

Laidlaw confirmed that the character is Teagan or simply that Teagan was in the DLC?

Orlais can be manipulated into collapsing in on itself. Look how easily Corypheus would have done it had it not been for the Inquisition.

Orzammar would easily betray the Inquisition if given a good deal (more so if Bhelen is in charge), so yeah they would not have help at all. Ferelden and Orlais do not need to attack Skyhold, they can easily crush the Inquisition in other ways that will force the Inquisition to come out.

@TBA13 If so, then that's that.

@Mr.House Even if the Inquisition did that thing for them that time? Ya know, with the lyrium and the rocks that move?

Well, that's kind of moot anyway.  I am unaware of any deep roads tunneling  through the heart of the Frostbacks right up to under Skyhold.  Even if Orzammar were inclined to aid the Inquisition, a blockade of the approaches in the  Frostbacks would be all it takes to prevent said aid.

Now, one saving grace, I suppose, may have been Morrigan's eluvian.  But, uh, given what the trailer shows...  Problematic, as Mordin would say. ;)
