Just my personal thoughts:
Human Noble will always have a special place in my heart (enjoying my recent ASoIaF/GoT-lite male Cousland).
I'm also partial to both dwarven origins. As backwards as their society may be, it's still pretty cool.
City Elf is alright. Nice that the way it plays out changes depending on the gender/sex of your character.
Dalish can choke on it.
Mage was nothing special but the retroactive connection between Hawke and Amell was nice.
Dalish has a better connection to the DLCs, though.
Returning to the ruins where you found the mirror in Witch Hunt after so much time had passed was pretty intense.

I'm partial to the female, elven mage origin, myself. I've tried all of them, at least until the Joining, but so far that's the only one I've done as a complete playthrough. So I guess part of it is bias based on my canon Warden, but I also really enjoy the freedom to headcanon and build roleplay elements upon her vague backstory pre-Circle. As a previous poster mentioned, I also headcanon that my girl was taken from an alienage at a young age due to her magic.
There's also something that's just very satisfying about playing the game as a character who goes from being two of the most mistreated things in Thedas/Ferelden to being this Big Damn Hero who shows the world that she is far more than the labels attached to her by circumstances of birth. That and I liked being able to keep Alistair without getting a 'ball and chain' reference as the only nod toward her existence in DA2. No cares given about the fact she has to be a 'mistress,' since he's open enough about it.
I'll never not giggle over the fact she had a crush on Cullen, who she repelled with ill-advised flirting.

Probably the Dwarf Commoner. I love the diverseness of the NPCs in the beginning. We have a drunkard mother, sweet sister, flirty best friend, hard-headed boss and his lady friend, and the dynamic and dialogue you have with all of them is so different and really helps you get an idea of the type of person you want your character to be (snarky with a soft spot for family, cynical with a penchant for following orders, forthright with zero patience for authority figures, etc.)
Sadly the magic doesn't quite follow through the rest of the story after the origin ends compared to some other origins, since the DC's motivations aren't portrayed as being very "large scale"... but I like to think that makes them a good Grey Warden, having no immediate personal interest in politics or vendettas.
And even though I lovelove the origin, I didn't play my DC as much as I wanted because I strongly preferred mages for combat. xP

Trampling everyone who's directly and indirectly responsible for their family's demise personally, was extreemly satisfying in the end.

I've done the Human Noble, Dalish Elf and City Elf and most recently the Circle Mage Origins. I disliked the Dalish Elf Origin the most and it's a close call between the City Elf and Human Noble, they were both good. I aborted my mage since I struggle to play as a mage, only comfortable with rogue archers or 2H warriors. But the Circle Mage Origin was fairly decent and the Cullen crush was so adorable.

I love Dwarves but I can't play from their perspective. It just feels off.
I NEVER play spell casters or mages.
I honestly do not like Elves. I guess I fit in perfectly wi th Fereldon's Nobility.
I do want to play from a new perspective though. I might actually try an Elf....City or Dalish, though?

You do realize Queen Cousland gets that comment, and I believe it was a jokie comment as Teagan says
"The Queen hates it when you call her that!"
"Just becuase she killed an Archdemon doesn't mean that she scares me!"
"You keep on telling yourself that, your majesty"
I think the ball and chain comment is just an affection nickname about Queen Cousland. I love Alistair, I so do. I think whenever he calls my Cousland that, this what she says.
"Angelica, what do you think when I call you 'the old ball and chain?'"
"Well, you could've thought of a better nickname, darling."
"I feel scared whenever you say Darling... "
"Well, blame the Inquisitor. She taught the ways of scaring men by saying Darling."

My favorite is the Human Noble mostly because of the Cousland family and the story connection, but also because my warden can marry Alistair in the end and become queen consort
. Also enjoyed the Human Mage and the City Elf.

All of this.
Compared to the rest, I felt like Brosca had the best motivation to ~start anew~ as a Grey Warden. I thought s/he also had interesting parallels with the rest of the party (Leliana trying to be a better person, Zevran being under the thumb of a shady organization, Morrigan having a horrible mom, etc.) Plus, I love how the Dwarf Commoner and Dwarf Noble are related by marriage. Baby Endrin has cool uncles or aunts.
And Duncan has the best comeback when the Proving Master starts giving you **** for being dirty casteless scum. Brilliant.
Aside from that, I really enjoyed the CE and DN.

I'm torn between City Elf and Dwarf Commoner for sheer epicness. Taking on a bunch of people who think they're better than you and wiping the floor with them? Yes, please!
However, I recommend playing every Origin at least once, just to get a feel for them all, because they're all enjoyable.
Agreed I've not played either of the lven one but I've just played the Human Noble for the first time yesterday. I'm looking forward to giving Howe a good kicking later after what he did.

* Rogue with high ranks of Pickpocket at least once; works well with Bronto, my Dwarven Commoner. Say goodbye to those guards giving you a hard time. Hear Duncan kindly reprimand your curiosity in Ostegar. Gather unique items not found in regular play. And eventually lift important things during battle.
* Dwarven Noble - make almost twice the gold as any other origin. Help Gorim get his shop early, and he will help make an excellent merchant. Just avoid the rest of Denerim as much as possible until later, as loot and encounters are scaled.
* City Elf - play a female at least once; the story then reminds me a lot of Red Sonja and Kill Bill.
* Dalish Elf - one of the better conclusion choices in the game.

I like the Dalish Elf Origin the most. I just love the Dalish. But I like the underdog origins too: City Elf, Dwarve Commoner and (in a way) Mage
I don't liek the two noble storylines that much, although it would be interesting to finish those two - must be interesting, meeting your murdering brother Bhelen again in Orzammar or being able to revenge your family with killing Howe (does the Human Nobel ever see his/her brother again? I never played that far with a hn)
I finished the game with a mage (fe, I guess), CE rogue and DE mage (with Dalish Mage mod). I always play rogues or mages, I don't like warriors,

Yes; elder brother does appear in the finale court ceremony. Also, Human Noble can become King/ Queen.

Not sure. My favourites are Human Noble, Dwarf Noble and Dalish Elf.
Out of those three i really enjoy playing Dalish Elf the most. I think it has alot of interesting lore. Now with DA:I out you can see the signs as early as that Origin, i think that is amazing foreshadowing for what is to come. It has a good balance between combat and conversation, as every rpg should have. The npc's are interesting and your approach to humans can be with ill intent. And i really like how Duncan is in that Origin, he shows the more brutal side of the Wardens when you deny him what he wants. Overall its just amazingly well done.

Depends on the view you take... I like both dwarf noble and human noble origins for their twist and presence of backstabbing (more for the dwarf)... you lead pretty comfortable life with your family, your parents love you and such... and suddenly you get slapped, your parents are dead, you get thrown out of your home and have to find a different way. Cousland origin also gives you some sort of motivation on the side (revenge on Howe) that is intertwined with the main story. I also kinda liked the brutality of city elf origin...
But in terms, who I can project myself into better, it would be Amell origin. I just like playing a character that is considered kind of a freak by general population, but also gets much better insight into certain areas of the lore that most of other people lack. Plus all that power you can potentially have at your fingertips...
As for Surana origin... it's obviously pretty much the same deal, but for the life of mine I have never been comfortable playing elves. Don't know why, I'm perfectly fine have them as team members (I really like Zevran for example), but they just never appealed to me in pretty much any universe (with the exception of Dunmer in Elder Scrolls). They have interesting mythology, but they just not interest me as people, if that makes sense. That is also reason, why I'm not much interested in Dalish or city elf character in general.
As for nobles... again, I don't know why, I just don't get much attachment to a noble character. Always seen them as pompous, full of money, greedy bastards with focus on politics and other petty stuff...
I'm also not a "family friendly" character - don't get me wrong there I have great respect fro anyone who makes his family work, I just don't want to part of that system, really. For some twisted reason, I find it much easier to be in a role of a character, who either doesn't know anything about his/her close relatives or have not seen them for so long, that he/she basically doesn't consider them a part of his life. Basically I have no problems to help my relatives out with practical problems, hell even take a beating for them, but for crying out loud... don't make me spend time with them, talk with them too much or participate in a family reunions and dinners and all that kind of stuff... I can't take this.
So at the end of the day, I'd say Amell, despite his/her origin part of the game isn't all that special or emotional.
Yeah I think that's partly why for me playing a mage in DA is my favourite class. Being disabled and all that and feeling vulnerable and things I like playing characters that look and feel the complete opposite of me which I definitely do get when playing a mage. Make me feel uplifted whenever I'm playing as one.
