Will our choices matter this one time?

It is perfectly understandable that Bioware can't really make choices matter.

In DAO, you can decide the rulers of both Ferelden and Orzammar. Then, you can decide on whether golems begin to be manufactured once again. And then you can decide whether there is a new independent elven kingdom or if there is an independent Circle or if the Old God Urthemiel is reborn.

All of these choices, on their own, would have repercussions that would extend far beyond the borders of Ferelden. Except all that we ever seem to get are references and cameos.

Which is perfectably understandable. It's just not feasible to expect Bioware to make games tailored specifically to each combinations of our decisions.

Truth is, I have yet to play a game that, between sequels, could actually make choices matter. The Witcher, Telltales, none do it.

Except that now, this DLC is meant to be about dealing with the results of our choices. We did this and this and this and now we are being asked "What do you have to say for yourself?"

So will our choices actually matter for once? Will we see radically different consequences depending on with whom we chose to ally with? Will different combinations matter? Emperor Gaspard with Leliana as Divine and the Templars allied with the Inquisition act differently from Emperor Gaspard with Divine Cassandra and allied mages?

I suppose it really depends on your own expectations in the matter, BioWare can only realistically do so much, so best thing, for me anyhow, is just go into the dlc and realize some but not all of my choices in the game will be resolved an just be happy about the ones that are but have a grand ole time roleplaying the ones that aint ;)

Well until there resolved in possible future games, then i will jump up n down screaming "IT NEVER HAPPENED LIKE THAT" :P

When i say "only so much" i mean they can only address so many of the choices wee did, not the choices they decide to address mean nothing

And that is what I mean I expect all to matter if not its just plain mean to be have so many important choices to mean nothing.

I demand everything from BioWare! I expect nothing, but it is important to demand everything. Keeps them striving for the best.

This is why I don't understand people who sit back and accept the proposition that the Hero of Ferelden be left out of the series due to multiple storylines being too difficult to account for. Well, what the heck do you call the Inquisition then? How is that any easier to account for? Yet for some reason people expect BioWare to have different storylines and outcomes to reflect all these choices.

That's why I say, account for all of it, including and especially the Hero. The Hero is easier to account for than the Inquisitor. And to those who don't want this, realize that what you're advocating is the original ending to Mass Effect 3. All your unique decisions funneled into one ending with only slight and meaningless differences. Why play Dragon Age at all if it ends the same no matter what? Why have custom characters? Why not just start the game playing as Calpernia, or nameless Tamassran, or awakened/released Falon'Din? And why have a dialogue wheel? Just let the BioWare character respond however they would according to their set personality. Make the series an action platformer while you're at it.
