Maybe they don't want to pay Kate Mulgrew's voice acting fees anymore?

Thats a sad thought for me tbh, she is easily one of my fav (if not fav) characters in the DA series and her voice acting is exquisite to me lol

Surprising for how little she is in the game but each time she is she just completely steals the show for me, i just cant help but give her my 100% undivided attention an could sit listen to her all day lol

I'll stop there before i creep out even further :P

Has to be as powerful as Flemeth, does he not? If Morrigan does NOT have an OGB in DAO, Solas still absorbs some essence from Flemeth that turns her into a petrified witch of the wilds. So, yeah, he has to be pretty powerful

Not powerful enough to prevent me from putting his head on a pike.

Just be careful not to project your own knowledge of Solas onto your Inquisitor. :) For all intents and purposes the Inquisitor shouldn't know anything about Solas' meeting with Flemeth or his connection to the orb. All he's done, as far as the Inquisitor is concerned, is lie about his background (and break your heart if you were a Dalish female who romanced him).

Weaker than any past, present  and future protagonist.

He's a dead man walking towards a reckoning.

If you need him to do something useful, he's not very powerful.  Maybe a little more knowledgeable than your average mage, but not all that.

If you need something screwed up in the most idiotic way possible, he's almost omnipotent.

So...depends on what the writers need him to do.

Looks like someone didn't talk to him, since his knowledge is on par with Flemeth.

I'm torn on that... In a way, it would be cool to see that you were betrayed by Solas and his intentions were completely nefarious and you have a massive/difficult battle with him... On the other hand, it would also be kind of cool to see him being torn between what his original goal was with retrieving the orb and the bond between him and the inquisition that was built by their shared experiences throughout the core game.

I assume that they'll try to go out with something major since this is supposed to be the final story DLC for the game. They likely don't want to leave us on a sour note between now and the next DA game, if one gets made...

I just want a fight. I don't care about how gamey it is or isn't to the narrative. I want a fight.

In ME3 I have all these crazy abstract and bizarre theories that justify much of what they did, but you'll still find me a big supporter of Harbinger and TIM boss fights. Still a video game, still fun to be had playing a very well designed boss encounter.

I think the devs have all but confirmed that Solas would be a feature of future games/lore as his story is too large an arc to cover in a DLC. This leads me to believe that he will not be a boss battle. Though hopefully for those Quizzy's that disliked him, they'll have a chance to vent their rage verbally and with threats. You do have the chance to punch him previously afterall.

As to his power? Well, who really knows. I assume that as his previous form of Fen'harel, he was considered powerful, or perhaps just very wise. Not all people are venerated for their physical strength. It could be possible that much of his knowledge on the Fade had helped/inspired the Elvhen people during his time, and that was why he was given a god-like status afterwards.

Now though, it would seem he had Mythal's power to supplement his own, and we know that she packs a fair punch. I wonder what he was doing in the intervening 2 years since his disappearance. Accruing more power perhaps? Gather together those left after the end of Mythal's Temple? I get the feeling that whatever he his power was during Inquisition, he'll be far more powerful now. Will be interesting to see what he plans to do with it.

A boss fight can have many contexts, only some of them meaning death of the opponent NPC.

Sooo much more can be done, and has been done in games in the past. Sometimes in cheezy and badly done ways, but sometimes in genius ways.

You think a ancient Elven "god" has only a little more knowledge than you everyday mage?

Flemeth wasn't possessed she accepted to do Mythals work since she felt her pain.

But no Solas has no other soul inside of him.

Truth is without his orb he lack some power, he was building up to strength while traveling with the inquestion...how powerful he will be in trustpasser could be anyone's guess if he had another artifact up his sleeve or other tricks could change things.

If he was powerful he wouldn't be falling over in the game during combat.
