Here's a few mythical names for those wanting them
Cerberus (three headed grecian hound guardian of Hades)
Fenrir (The giant wolf that bit off Tyr's hand)
Garm (A norse myth's dog that is associated with Ragnarok)
Amarok (A giant wolf from the Inuit Mythology)
Asena (A turkish legends she wolf)
Geri (Norse mythology pet of Odin)
Freki (Another of Odin's pet wolves)

Named mine Jabba, after my late dog of the same name. He got the final kill of the game (you know what) funnily enough. 
Found that a bit nostalgic for further playthroughs though, so chose Gaspode as my second War Dog.

Other good names could be: Princess, foofoo, fifi, Penelope and Buttercups. For some reason I enjoy giving a big mean dog a wussy name. It makes it all the more pleasing when they tear into someone's throat. Get em Buttercup, Lol. : )
Seriously though, how about Dog? Or Wardog?
