Have multiple dogs in multiple games.
I often use the names of greek/roman gods like Ajax although one of my dogs ended up being named Fluffy for some reason. Went with a particularly blonde and fluffy female Warden.

I named mine Bauer after Jack Bauer of course. Human Bauer bites throats out, Dog Bauer does the same. Plus I'm pretty sure human Bauer not showering for 24 hours probably smells, as does dog sooooo....
