Question (since I didn't see any mention on the OP): did upgrade to Flask of Fire, get altered? I didn't see anything specific in the description - and I admittedly don't remember how it was worded - but last night playing my Tempest Archer, I could only fire off two Long Shots in a row, but not a third, even though the flask was still active. However, if I switched to a different skill, it would fire just fine. It would even show the animation like it was going to shoot the third LS, but then would stop (and it wasn't the "freeze bug", from the way it looked and acted).

My usual chain for Flask of Fire, if I was already at distance was three LS's, and I could even fire off a fourth since the third shot would occur while still under the FoF effects. I play this rogue to run into the mix a lot, so it isn't uncommon for me to start with Throwing Knives, Leaping Shot, and switch to LS once distance is gained. When I do that string of skills, it works just fine; I get three skills under FoF, and a fourth freebie, since everything still had no cool down when FoF expired. But I can no longer do more than two Long Shots in a row.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Well that's deserving of respect, at the very least. You've shown the courage of your convictions by rising above the whine-fest and taking action.


Yes, well, it's not a complete fix. The added functionality is still there, and I can't turn that off, I think. So if you use Energy Barrage, the Spirit Blade is royally overpowered for a swing or two. But at least it's not underpowered if you choose not to, now.

I knew about that item a few days ago. It's another competition relic winner. Sounds like an option for Simulacrum-Heal on Hit abusing.

Two questions.  One, if you saw it a few days ago is it listed somewhere else because I have not seen it.  Two, what is a "competition relic winner"?

 

I also thought of a necromancer, but not sure how the guardian spirit ability works on the relic.  Guardian spirit is bugged with Necromancer Simulacrum.  So if it acts the same way it won't do any good.

I saw it listed in the Locations for new "Untold Relics of Thedas" accessories thread here. 

 

The Untold Relics of Thedas Contest is why these items are in the game. Players had 6 days to create new items to submit in this contest, with the winners having their times added in the last patch.

Mana Surge seems OP now

 

All mage builds now should incorporate these four passives

  1. Flashpoint.
  2. Mana Surge.
  3. Conductive Current.
  4. Rejuvenating Barrier.

I may not agree with your view point here but unlike most internet warriors you actually went and did something.

I'd use it, if I could. But, I play DA:I on the Xbone, so I'm SoL. I would simply boost the damage to the MP level, though ideally I would change how the current system works. Three hundred percent weapon damage, but instead of constantly fluctuating damage, it only changes if you run low on SB energy. Also, I'd allow for two full SB combos before having the energy/charge deplete.

Since when do the Elemental Mines fly??? I noticed today, using Varric to kill some snoufleurs, that he was able to throw one big fire mine, which promptly flew away as if in a vacuum. Then used it again right after, and all the little mines did the same thing. Bug, or intended feature?

Some attacks move stuff like that, like the dragon wings.
Did you notice if varric used an ice mine before the fire one? I'm trying to figure out what causes it and so far it looks like it's always an ice then a fire mine which leaves shock oddly out.

I've noticed it seems to be ice mine a lot, too. ever since I noticed this addition to the skill I've only seen ice since. Could just miss him using other ones in combat I guess.

Same PT or comparing two different PTs? I assume the latter. Sounds like a bug. Was it always there in the same PT and disappeared, or never saw it?

 

Nevermind. In other news, there seems to be some interaction between syncing in Haven vs. Skyhold, and/or with DLC or without DLC items. See the Golden Nug thread.

I dislike such flat, categorical statements without supporting arguments, but since #1 and #3 were already common knowledge, your statement boils down to, "Mana Surge is now worth getting and the bug that broke Rejuv Barrier is now fixed". ;)

Huh. On Leo I got an ice mine followed by a Fire Mine always with no shock mine.
Really odd. I also noticed that the fire mine is a persistent a AOE do any of your companions have immolate? You could remove all fire skills an see if it pops or use him yourself.
This is getting really curious now.

Yes, 5% damage buff for each 10% of mana missing. Assuming Patch 10 hasn't stealth changed it ...

Come to think of it, Rejuv Barrier works against that passive. So taking both maybe isn't such a good idea.

As does rift mage.
Still no clue what could actually cause the mine thing. Working on my canon playthrough however so until skyhold I'm not gonna really be able to test much.
Plus Leo's killed everything already q.q
Plus apparently you don't always get an ice then fire mine?

This would be a great passive spell in old Draagon age games. Now mana regeneretes too fast and when you have 0 mana you can't use any spell. It's just something that (maybe) adds some power during a fight but you can't control it

It would be awesome to have 400 mana aand regeneration at 25%.,or at least some items that gives mana

we have amulets that give 60 stamina,why not make something for mana too?

I dont know how but i change my elemental mines to only one element , first fire , the icon change , later only ice , the icon on the skill change too , but no shock , and that's my pc not Varric , i wish to know how to change , or this is random ... Only Bioware knows ...
