What I'm saying is that they chose to alter it, but that itself wasn't because of MP. Previous patches have changed it in MP and not SP, so they could have done the same thing if they wanted to.

AFAIK none of the patches changed it in MP but not SP.  The MP server does have the ability to override stats, which is how they do weekly balance changes.  If they need something altered for MP that cannot be changed with the live updates, they have to put it in a patch.

Other SP changes are more or less to fix things that didn't work right.  Flask of Lightning did not speed up AI controlled Sera, only affected time dilation when the Tempest was player controlled.  EDIT: That should have said the upgrade (Quicksilver) did not speed up the rogue any more than the base version when she is not player controlled.

War Horn nerf is definitely because of Reaver in MP and the ability to bust nearly all of a Nightmare dragon's guard (or all of it with enough promotes and or MO).

Siege Breaker change is to make Legionaire killable.

I suppose you're right about that, but I find it odd they wouldn't  have changed SB earlier via patch if they wanted to.

That's weird, because my Inquisitor sped up just fine with the flask when using another character. That is a terrible change. These are the kind of things that make me want optional changes from patches :(

War Horn nerf is stupid too. The whole point of the upgrade is that it kills Guard

Yeah I am strongly considering re-rolling and going assassin.  Flask of Frost is still great for cross-class combos though.  But egads this kind of sucks about the FoL.

Updating on the XBone.  I'll have to see the damage before I make any assessments.

I don't think they killed all the time dilation did they?  That quote just talked about a change to the upgrade for FOL.

Flask of Lightning's upgrade now zaps every enemy you damage for 300% electricity when it runs out.

edit: Above when I was talking about the bug in FOL, I meant that Quicksilver did not speed up AI controlled Tempest more than the base version of the flask.

I never assumed the increased time dilation was removed. Rather the 300% Lighting Damage was just  an add.

Not sure.  I assume the baseline time dilation is still there.  But when you upgrade it time practically freezes.  And for a short time, you feel like quicksilver as all the lights and special magical effects are frozen around you.  It is...was..sublime.

I hope it was just an addition and not a change. Yes, it was really cool. And the upgrade was called Quicksilver, so it didn't go unnoticed by the devs ;)

Ok just checked in-game. Flask of lightning upgrade still further dilates time, but no longer extends by 2 seconds. Instead of extra 2 seconds each enemy you hit takes 300% lightning damage.

Upgrade now called 'Thunderstruck'

It was nerfed in the sense that its base damage was changed from 300% to 150%, and its Barrier and Guard damage bonuses were both lowered to 100% from 200% and 400% respectively, if I recall correctly.

Ah, well that's workable. Is the damage noticeable?

Also shadow strike no longer lowers cooldowns but grants 70 stamina.

Shadow strike changed too.

It used to give 200% bonus damage if used from stealth or not being hit.

Now you get back 70 stamina if you hit a target that isn't attacking you.

Old cost was 50, new cost is 20.  So net return of 50 stamina.

Shadow strike Upgrade (Quick blade) has also been changed.

Old version reduced stamina cost and GCD of all skills by 4 seconds.  New version adds the 200% extra damage if used from stealth or not being hit.  So no more using Shadow strike under Flask of Fire to stay perma-flasked.

Evasion changed:

Old was 5% to activate, new is 10% to activate

The Merchant from The Descent DLC with the extremely high item buy rate was also Nerfed. She pays the same as every merchant in the game now.

Walking bomb now has a 500% explosion damage listed (used to be 600% and was bugged, only did 200%).  Not sure if is a change in the description only, or if the ability in the game is different too.

Upgrade to Spirit Mark now lists damage bonus of spirit as 100% instead of 75%.

the new bonus from doing other attacks first seems to more than make up for a lower in base damage though, but it is weird that they do not specify how much the damage bonus is. As having the number up to 99 seems to do more than a 99% bonus.

Well that sounds like they found a way to fix it finally.

That's because 99 is the number of charges you have, not the bonus damage. The average swing seems to eat up 5-10 charges from what I've seen.

I must be blind or something.  I am looking at Vivienne right now and Spirit Blade only has 1 upgrade.

Well good thing I have almost all the schematics with the golden nug anyway I suppose.
Still a bummer.
@Above Quizzy has one upgrade too.
not sure what's up with that.

Sorry...wiki was updated.

Hmmm now I am going to have to mess around with Sera and Shadow Strike.  It seems like you might be able to create a pre-Skyhold dagger rogue with nearly unlimited stamina between SS and Parry.

That's because 99 is the number of charges you have, not the bonus damage. The average swing seems to eat up 5-10 charges from what I've seen.

No every swing half your number of charges, at max 99 charges your SB can do damage comparable to fade cloak (but less around 800%-900%), after that you do around 600-700% damage at 50 charges, then third swing starts at 25 charges and give you around the same damage as prepatch spirit blade. Each attack other than SB (including basic attack) that damages each enemy gives you 5 charges (so use chain lightning, energy barrage or other aoe spells to quickly gather charges). As a result, your number of charges could be anywhere between 0-99 during combat, as long as you pay attention to it and stop using SB when your charges drop below 20, you should be doing constantly much more damage with your SB after patch.

Overall I consider SB change a pretty good buff to its raw damage but a pretty big nerf to barrier and guard bonuses.
