Actually, I'd be curious to see that outcome as well, even if it did just give us a Non-Standard Game Over.
My concern with the Qunari invasion plot is if it went the way of the Mage-Templar storyline and end up a dull squib, because the devs don't want to upset the status quo drastically. It would disappoint everyone because once again we'd have all that build up and no real pay off.
I think the only way we could do a decent Qunari invasion storyline is if we set it on Seheron, perhaps having our character part of the rebellion to oust both the Qunari and Imperium from the island and ultimately rising through the ranks to lead the entire resistance.
I'd rather witness a "what if" version of Thedas in which Tevinter has completely taken over. 
But I suppose that's not exactly a secret.

The Nug King should marry the Queen of Dragons and together they would be the most powerful alliance that Thedas has never seen.
