As far as I can recall all of the weapons are fairly unique* (excluding elemental flavoring within the set)... And I should know since I made them all

I'm still not seeing anything that beats 100% critical damage tbh. Cool effects, fun abilities, but for killing power nuthing tops hackons. If that 50% attack speed staff turns out to be real, that may beat hackons though.

Yup, that's true. If you don't need to deal damage, then some crazy great weapons have shown up.

Look at your health bars, you probably have 2 or 3 bars.

Your health is lower.  The "cost" means you have fewer HP overall, not that you lose HP when you attack.  Your barrier should be unaffected (unless it is tied to HP but IIRC it is tied to base weapon damage). So with lightning damage staff and chain lightning, as long as you keep attacking you should be fine but once that barrier is gone.......

ok just checked the staff i got earlier;

 

Heart of Pride lv25 unique

84 electricity damage

12% barrier damage bonus

48 willpower

Permashock: all nearby enemies are constantly shocked

grants 50% bonus resistance to electricity and 50% ATTACK SPEED

 

yes i just tried it out and it really does make everything you do 50% faster, yes this includes animations for skills. makes using the new class so much smoother.

all in all i don't know if its much better than the hakkon staff though, the damage drop off is significant plus you can't even put a grip or a blade on it..

yea i miss read it , thought it was a hp cost on each storm attack , since HoK is on everything now , but its the hp behind the barrier , better keep it up then =)
