The Virtual Aliens.
There's no mention of them in ME3, and I can only assume this means that the Virtual Aliens were either destroyed or continued their endless voyage through space. . .maybe they found themselves in Andromeda?

I had forgotten about them, there could be a really cool sidequest involving them where you board a derelict ship or something.

The raloi pretended to be a pre-spaceflight species so the Reapers would leave them alone, so if the Ark Theory is true (I hope not), then I doubt they would make it into Andromeda. Kakliosaurs weren't seen in ME3 because they had only just grown a few new ones, and we didn't go to any krogan battlefields to see them in action. I also doubt we'd see them in Andromeda if the Ark Theory proves correct.
If the Ark Theory is BS (pls god) then we could see both. Either way, we're getting new aliens any way.

Given that we've now seen a logo for an organization called Arkcon, and the word Ark appearing in game, its almost certain that the Ark Theory is happening.

well it could be a red herring, with ARKcon standing for something like Alliance Raloi Krogan Confederacy.
Don't get me wrong I doubt it, but its possible. My only real question is when did it launch?

It is speculated after the fall of Thessia when the Asari councilor speaks about plans and continuity of civilizations that need to be put in motion.

Not necessarily. Arkcon could be literally anything, and that line from Councillor Tevos has been taken as something way more than what it was. How do you know that the work "Ark" appears in the game? I mean, it definitely does because there's something called "Arkcon" but what is the relevance of that?

Yeah but Sheppard like blows up the galaxy 2 days later, even on the magic time Mass effect universe works on that seems pretty tight to get done before the end of ME3. they built a ship capable of travelling to another Galaxy or stole a black ark, and retrofitted it to fit colonists then gathered a crap ton of colonists and launched in 2 days? Don't get me wrong that into isn't synthesis ending absurd, but its close.

The Yahg had a lot of potential as great villains but I seriously doubt we will ever see them again.
I hope so, it does seem to depend on whether the Ark theory is right or not...which please do not be true. The game would have to be outstanding for me to let that plot line slide.

You do realize difference between "putting in motion" and "making up" a plan, right?

The Arkcon logo was posted on Bioware's Twitter feed by one of the devs.
The word ark by itself is also in the trailer.
This video (6 minutes long) shows both.
I have seen this since posting yesterday it doesn't really mean there is an Ark and certainly not before the end of ME3.

It is no guarantee, true...but it does make the Ark Theory seem a lot more likely than any of the alternatives. It would be more surprising at this point if the word ark appearing alone in the trailer, and as part of that Arkcon logo, were coincidences that have nothing to do with an ark being the means of getting to Andromeda.
As for the timeline...
The colonists will almost certainly set out before the end of the Reaper War. The shift to Andromeda was obviously so the writers didn't have to sort out the mess that ME3's endings left behind. The only you can avoid having to deal with the endings is by having your colonists depart for Andromeda at some point before the Crucible fires. That doesn't necessarily mean that they'll set out during the Reaper War, but it being a desperate Plan B in case the Crucible fails isn't unreasonable speculation.

Oh, man. The kakilosaurs.
I'm still bitter about that. Tease us with krogan riding cloned alien dinosaurs into battle and never show it on screen? The bastards.

It's a really silly name, though. It sounds like something out of Fallout, and that's very much a parody.

It's very par for the course with a Mass Effect game.
Lazarus, Omega, Purgatory, Afterlife, Legion, Eve...They really like their biblical references.

I'm now half-expecting the default name for the male protagonist to be Noah.
