This doesn't bother me all that much, actually. But what's this about more serious spoilers, new ones? All this I've heard.

I'm more interested in what someone meant when talking about Weisshaupt in the reddit thread.

Oh, you sank into the spoiler hole like I did. Welcome!

Aaand then you remember that he is partially to blame for the fact that the anchor is even part of the Inquisitor. Solas why. :(

I do still feel bad for Solas, as much as I feel bad for Lavellan. Because the Dread Wolf really does seem to screw up everything he touches. His past regrets, giving his chewtoy ball away to the wrong sort of person, some of his power getting anchored to some poor schmuck... who he then falls in love with... and then has to remove her entire hand/forearm because of the thing he was passively responsible for cursing her with to begin with.

Feelz.

Better than "Solas yanks your arm off and cackles".

There is obviously context we don't know, and without it we are just grasping to find meaning in things that we can't understand.

I'm going to choose to think that Solas did love Lavellan, and still loves her, and so whatever he does he does it out of love.

I hold onto that Patrick Weekes interview (should still be listed in the OP of the Solas thread) where he is so adamant about how much Solas loves Lavellan in the romance and how sincere he is about it.

Also, just saw this Reddit comment and I LOL'd out loud in the office. Almost snorted, even. Whoops.

"What is love?

Vehnan don't hurt me

don't hurt me

no more."

The Reddit thread has been making me laugh all day, actually. And yeah, I totally broke down. I broke down when the first spoilers in November came out too- for the whole game, so I'm true to form. :)

Thank god I have you guys and Reddit to cheer me up, it's Friday and the LONGEST DAY EVER. Basically everyone is gone today because it's a holiday Monday so people are peacing out and I'm like....is it 5 yet? (It's only 11.)

Yeah, I was here back in November and here I am again. Was fondly reminiscing and chuckling about how most of us didn't believe the spoilers about Solas being the Dread Wolf and we were all like NOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAY what a fake spoiler.

Good times.

Same here. Literally nobody wants to work and we're all just trying to fill the time until we can beg to leave early. Not only is it Labor Day on Monday, but we have a giant 450th Celebration of our city's discovery/founding happening from now through Tuesday, so none of our customers are even, like, there to call on. This is a completely wasted day, so I'm using it to catch up on BSN. LOL

Seems you are East Coast like me, as it's the same time. :)

Indiana here. Kind of east coastish? I'd give my left hand to live somewhere in like, Massachusetts.

Am I imagining that there was a spoiler about Varric that was like, if he keeps the red lyrium idol, he gets possessed and you have to kill him? That stressed me out WAY more than any other spoiler and didn't turn out to be true. lol

Alright. I'm going to theorize that you can a) give up your hand willingly to Solas and then go off and do real people things or whatever. 2) not give up your hand to Solas and he takes it forcibly. c) don't give up your hand at all and die. d)if you're a romanced character, you can choose instead to go with Solas, but effectively "die" meaning, you can't see your friends or anything again- you'd have to go, live in the fade or some such nonsense. Or go into unethera or who knows. So. That's what I'm hoping. Today, anyway. :)

I think we should all take a deep breath and be calm. And, think of it this way. It's EXCELLENT for people who have disabilities. I think it's really cool that it could happen, something that I think some disabled people, from the Reddit thread that I've seen, are excited about it. I think it'll just add another layer.

But what losing an arm also does is it totally gets the Inqusistor, if he or she survives the DLC, out of the action. So you're never going to wonder why, when the world goes to **** (again) in DA4, the Inquisitor doesn't come help. Removes them from the equation so all you can do is get a nice snippet about how she's enjoying retirement on the coast of Antiva.

Or Solas introduces her to June and she gets the Luke Skywalker treatment.   :)

As a disabled person myself (with invisible disabilities), I agree that it's a good thing.

I agree! I think people are taking the 'loses a hand' thing to mean that they are now going to be an invalid or something. It is just a hand. The Inquisitor is a strong man/woman. Eventually they'll find a way to bring themselves back up to speed as far as fighting goes, hand or no hand.

Actually think it is pretty cool, to be honest!

I'm still confused where that Varric kept a lyrium idol rumor came from. I guess his tarot card?

Maybe that? Maybe from the hushed whispers questline?

I did go change the keep pretty fast though lol

I'm embarrassed I didn't think of this. I have a very visible disability (Cerebral palsy). Maybe I can finally do a right and proper self-insert playthrough without feeling awkward.

I think it's only a matter of time before you really will be able to do anything like that in games...they have come so far, and just the idea that maybe they will have a gay marriage in the game why not someone who has lost a limb or has some other kind of disability.

Think of all the people it might really speak to, you know? I think it's great.

Also I think, on the spoiler side of things, that Solas dungeon just means part of it'll be in his temple. Makes sense, you fight through, he swoops in and saves you at the end, and he's there. I expect the wedding to be at the beginning maybe, it would be a good way to get all the companions there again, everyone who loves you would be there for the wedding, unless you loved Solas and it's right on to the Trial instead.

It's also entirely possible that losing your hand might be the worst-case scenario (aside from dying). Depending on your relationship with Solas, he might opt for a less...invasive solution. Or, taking your hand forcefully happens only when you deny him the power of your mark (which may not even be possible, depending on your choice regarding the well).

But that's just me being optimistic. Anything is possible with Weekes.  :P

Nice to see this place getting some use again. This is nostalgic.

The hand thing doesn't bother me but it's starting to look like some Lavellans can really end with just about nothing.  :(

Always DA4. I doubt we've seen the last of the wolf.

For a time, no.

But they did say Solas's story would not be wrapped up in this DLC. Makes me think he's bound to pop up in an eventual DA4 or 5 or whatnot. Just may be a while and we'll have a lot of dust to blow off this place the next time.

Never say never. Solas will still be a character in the future. :) four years from now we're all right back at it.

There is always Dragon Age 4. I hope...

Also, we will still have the lovely Solas thread. :)

I have a very long memory. If nothing else, I can send out a call and rally us back here once more when the time comes.

This can be like when the Dalish clans meet every 10 years to catch up on things.

Well I hope they at least announce DA4 sooner than they announced Inquisition- at least that it's "greenlit" or whatever, which I know we only knew early because someone dropped it in a tweet or whatever, right? Because I need a place to hypothesize. :)

I'm really so excited for Tuesday now. I'm not as filled with dread as I was before I read the spoilers.

I've been thinking about this all day at work!  LOL my friend has been making fun of me :P  But I did cry last night ugh... so much emotion.

I'm totally down for the hand thing if either (1) the scene is different for a romanced Lavellan, (2) it's optional (i.e. can choose to die), (3) we can go with Solas, or (4) Solas promises to come back for us in the future.

I really, really want her going into Uthenera though and becoming "immortal."  I just think that would be phenomenal and beautiful, and bittersweet.
