Um....I might be off base here, but remember at the beginning of the game when Inky is escaping the fade and she reaches up to the Divine and there's a flash?  And remember how Cole says the Inky is so bright, like trying to count birds against the sun?  What if she has that spark of Elhevan that has immortality?  Her spirit is so bright.  That keeps echoing in my mind.

Edit to add:  There has to be something special about her and that brightness of her soul.  It might be why the mark didn't kill her in the first place, or how she got physically got into the fade to begin with before she got the mark.

It really is. A little sad that it won't be needed again though.

You made me sadder :(

****, I didn't even think I could be sadder...

I remember the freaking out and then it was beautiful and we laughed and laughed about how stupid we were, and then we finished the game and, well... yeah, here we are...

I think Cole says that to every Inquisitor regardless of race. They're hard to read because of the Mark.

I'm sorry. :<

Providing things don't go way, way south with Trespasser, we can always talk about DA4 here. The cycle of "where's Solas" can start all over again.

You'll be fine!!

Listen, we know this DLC isn't going to make everyone happy- you know on Wednesday that there's going to be 85 "I HATE THIS STUPID DLC" threads, half of which by people who haven't even played it.

The point is, we come back to Bioware time and time again because of one thing. They make us feel. Their stories move us, change us, resonate with us. I trust them enough that they will come up with the ending that makes the most sense story-wise. We may not understand why now, but we eventually will. I don't know how things are going to turn out Tuesday, but I do know that I trust them to give me one hell of an ending. I trust that on Tuesday I'm going to be worn out from laughing and crying and it's going to be worth every. damn. second.

Trust me. This is going to be good.

Doesn't matter what race the Inky is, a piece of the elven goddess Mythal jumped into a human.  A spark of something could have jumped into here when she was accepting help to get up that incline and escape the spiders.  I'm gonna cling to my hope that the brightness means something.  I need a life jacket here.  I'm on vacation and this is making it kind of a bummer.

I do look forward to the emotional experience...whatever I end up feeling.

I also almost look forward to some of the complaining just a little...mostly from those people who are indignant about the consequences of their choices (since apparently we get what we deserve or something).

"Why am I being punished just for choosing so and so?! BAAAAAH!"

"Why am I being punished for being an *******?! BAAAAAH!"

I'm sorry...but it's funny when people think they can just do what they want with no repercussions because it's a video game and then get mad when they find that they can't...

So I started another run through, this time with intent on romancing Cullen to distract myself from the Solas heartache, and what happens?  I see Solas and he does that laugh and I melt all over again.

le sigh.

Roll a human. You're forced. I started a new playthough so I could do Champions of the Just (She's pretty pro-chantry and <3's Cullen) because I've never done the Calpurnia set of quests. I'm not Solas' best friend but Viv sure loves me. lol. I'm trying to run around with other people who I'm not used to bringing, like Viv and Blackwall. We'll see how it goes. I'm kind of in love with her face so I think I'll stick this one out.

Good advice.  A human would put a nix on the temptation.

When the Divine touches her arm in the Fade she acts weird too.

I also like what Cole says about Lavellan. She's struggling to speak a language her parents spoke. Shows she's not completely Dalish.

And if human not completely human but a piece of an old god.  Either way....intriguing.

I do wonder if our specializations will be taken into account for this DLC. They are mentioned in the Keep which makes me wonder if there will be some repercussions if you decided to specialize as a Reaver or a Necromancer or an Assassin ?

Perhaps being talked down by the nobles about it. Or perhaps if you specialized as a Rift Mage, your character will get extra options regarding the Mark ?

With folks sharing Solavellan music ove rin the Solas thread...it got me thinking.....

What if for Solas romanced Lavellans they play the Thedas Love Theme during theorized arm cutting scene?

OMG why do I hurt myself.....

We got dumped to that music....might as well turn it up a notch.

If they play "The Dawn Will Come" in a softer tone when it happens, that will break me. It's not our fault we were chosen and forced into this mess! Now we are being attacked and lose our arm for what? Giving so much already to save these ingrates!!

I just had a thought. Patrick Weekes hinted or implied that we will have a Virmire-style choice to make in Trespasser.

Well, what if there was a way to remove the Mark safely, but it requires a sacrifice ? Recall what Corypheus says to the thralled Wardens in Haven:- "Now is the hour of victory. Bring forth the sacrifice." and he attempted to use Divine Justinia as a sacrifice. Isn't it interesting that Corypheus decides to use a person as a sacrifice to unlock its power ? Obviously the move to use Justinia as the sacrifice was a pragmatic and strategic one from his point of view but why require a sacrifice in the first place ?

Does this mean that the Inquisitor will either have to choose between:-

1) Amputate our arm to remove the Mark at the cost of not harming anyone else.

2) Die due to being consumed by the Mark going out of control.

3) Use someone, presumably a follower and companion, as a sacrifice to remove the Mark from our hand at the cost of killing them.

Thoughts ?

I was also thinking a companion might need to be sacrificed. The devs made a movie joke about Cole doing that, so who knows? Maybe it's a hint that a companion must die?

If my hypothesis is true, then this is like Boethiah's quest in Skyrim. You have to find a follower who you are willing to sacrifice.

For now Vivienne and Sera are my prime candidates.
