Well well...I gave in and read the spoilers. I think it doesn't bother we might loose the hand but how we loose it. If Solas is responsible, is he literally going to come back after two years just to chop it off, because that is something. (no better words lol).
Also since a wedding is definitely happening, I doubt Sollamancers will get in on that one.
I still say us Solasmancers ought to be able to just go with him. He gets the power of the anchor, he can make it not kill us and not have to chop it off (if that even is what happens). Win/Win.

I think we should all take a deep breath and be calm. And, think of it this way. It's EXCELLENT for people who have disabilities. I think it's really cool that it could happen, something that I think some disabled people, from the Reddit thread that I've seen, are excited about it. I think it'll just add another layer.
But what losing an arm also does is it totally gets the Inqusistor, if he or she survives the DLC, out of the action. So you're never going to wonder why, when the world goes to **** (again) in DA4, the Inquisitor doesn't come help. Removes them from the equation so all you can do is get a nice snippet about how she's enjoying retirement on the coast of Antiva.
I agree with you. I'm not upset that the Inquisitor can loose a hand (even though my Quizzy is an Archer, plus I'm sure Dagna could make something similar to what irl disabled archers use, so it's all good). I think where it gets dicey for me is how it happens and how Solas does it.
Also is an effective way for Bioware to safely retire the Inquisitor. If we only knew how it affects the Sollavelan relationship...
I agree that the hand thing is a great way to take the Inquisitor out of the game, while sidestepping 'but where are they? Story not done!' stuff like they got with Warden and Hawke. Proper closure. Could also lead to some cool headcanons where either a Quiz learns to deal with a disability and becomes even more badass as a result/ ends up with an amazing lyrium-infused silverite (or something) prosthetic courtesy of Dagna. I'm all for this!
Would love, love, love an option for romanced Lavellan to either leave physically with Solas, or maybe for her body to go into Uthenera so she can at least be with her guy in the Fade (perhaps she has to stay in Uthenera for an unspecified but lengthy amount of time, which would take her out of the picture for future games as effectively as it would anyone else). I'm worried that Mr Weekes is really going for maximum heartbreak though ('brace yourselves'). I'm trying to be optimistic, but failing horribly most of the time. Gagh, too many feels!
Yeah even before the leaked data, I had resigned myself to the fact that the writers wanted to tell a particular story about Solas since the beginning. Remember that Solas wasn't even supposed to be romanceable but was added at the last minute because Weekes thought it would add to the drama. And was he right!
I just want to play the damn thing and get it over with at this point. It's funny how different my Lavellan's experience will turn out in comparison to my Trevelyan with a romanced Cullen. Both without a hand but at least one will get her man.
Haha, yes I'm planning a Cullen/Trev playthrough next for something a wee bit fluffier. It's ridiculous how genuinely sad and anxious I feel for my Lavellan - I think she's the most attached I've ever been to one of my protags with the exception of my favourite F!Shep. First time I've ever completed a fantasy game as an Elf, too - I normally play human characters, but made an exception because Solas was hot I fancied a change.
Well, I drew some fanart of what may potentially happen and all I have to say is Weekes should give female Lavellans a break. Sheesh.
Yeah, if Quizzy loses and arm they should become like Ed.
Or Squalo who attaches his sword to his arm which he cut off himself.
If Solas does take my Lavellan's arm off, then I wouldn't mind having what Ed has right there. 
Am I the only one who doesn't see the ending as horribly depressing? I mean it provides a really good excuse for the Inqusitor to retire. For those of us who didn't romance Solas, they can run off and get married and do whatever without worrying about DA4. They have the freedom to live. And, perhaps curiously, it is upped my interest In doing the Solas romance. Because I can't imagine how intense him taking off your hand will be as lovers.

Lavellan was dying so the hand chop was to save her. And she and Solas stay together, but she stays on the fade

Probably the thing I am most looking forward to! I hope that we'll actually learn something more concrete about what's going on with the Solas/elf plotline.
Apparently there is supposed to be an elf dungeon and a Solas dungeon or something, and they did say we'd learn bout elves and Qunari. I am looking for both. I really, really want to know why elves want to look the way they do and why Qunari are a mistake or whatever (who knows if those are the answers we'll get, though)...I'm also looking forward to the Sandal thing.
I wonder if the Solas hint is related to his whereabouts or his identity.
Also, I just realized that the first codex asset says behindyou...it reminded me of a horror game. Things love being behind you in those.

Thanks! I wonder whether this implies that Solas did or didn't kill Felassan. I just can't picture it because Felassan seemed to like him. And it doesn't seem Solas' style.
