It actually would have been, considering Solas' state of mind. He's not fully sane (as least as how I would define it). He's on the verge of being sociopathic. Any respect I had for him is gone. I'm actually very shocked that it all makes sense with his character. I find it almost disgusting.

She does. You can ask him lots of questions, there's romance specific stuff. He says the path he walks leads only to death and refuses to let her go with him. And yes, the hand gets lost.
