Magekiller (new book) might hint at new companions like we had with Cole.
Whoa whoa whoa where is this new book?

Oh dear, time to brace for drama.
But overall feelings about the DLC?
Well...lots of feels. There is a lot of stuff that I liked about the Solas scene, but also a lot of stuff that I do NOT like. Here you have your elven lady girlfriend, which you love VERY much and know that you will change because of your plans - and you do not want her to see it. That is fine. What isn't fine is that you are willing to let the WHOLE WORLD DIE, but guess what? SHE'S PART OF THAT WORLD, YOU MORONIC EGGHEAD! ![]()

If they're setting up Solas to be a villain, then it's assured that Lavellan fails.
Magekiller is a comic style though, right?

He's not in his right mind! It's why we have to save him from himself.
Let me love you Solas.
And I guess he did kill Felassan, but was sad about it? That's what I got from Cole's slow arrow comment.
He really did kiss her as he was removing her arm like people said. It just hit me.
Was he the one who removed her arm? I didn't notice. ![]()

Is there any reason for him not being in his right mind? Like, I like the idea of Lavellan trying to save him but I'm a little confused if that means save him from something actually impacting him, or just 'save' by stopping him?

Yeah, it's a comic, not a book, from what I understood.
If they're setting up Solas to be a villain, then it's assured that Lavellan fails.
I haven't played, obviously, but I don't think it sounds like they are- maybe he "tries" or whatever, but ends up someone else is way worse and...but Idk. Will make judgement in a few hours when I can play. But I'm thinking DA4 you can play your Inquisitor. For sure. And maybe he's only a villain if you didn't romance him? And if you're playing an inquisitor that didn't he IS the villain, otherwise you get to save him.

That doesn't necessarily have to be true if Inky has a role in the next game...does it?

The Flemythal merger would be my guess? That can't have necessarily been a good thing for his mind.

Yeah, this kind of seems like a real about-face for him. Maybe Mythal's power did this to him? Unless he really was just acting the whole way through. We do see parts of a sharper side to him here and there. Maybe he was just hiding it really well.

Oh! Interesting. Is there any reference to that? And what did Solas think he was going to accomplish by getting Mythal?

It might be based on how you ended it. You can stay you will stop him or you can support him. In that stream they wanted to help him and be his friend. It might go both ways. The guy is a mess right now and the Inquisitor sees a friend in need.
I also like how he really IS Solas and Fen'Harel (Dread Wolf) is a title.

When I say that, I just mean he isn't thinking straight. I think by saving him from himself we would be saving him from his choices which will just add to his already present hurt.

He basically admits it was all an act.
I was shocked. I cried on the spot.

I have no idea, I haven't played the DLC yet. LOL
I was just remembering the post-game stinger from before the DLC.

LOL Who would name their kid "pride"?

I know, but even a psychopath who's willing to doom everything for his people should know that his precious little girlfriend will die if he doesn't let her follow him. Like: "Alright, stay here, here you are safe from me - buuut not really because I will drag this whole world down. Whoopsies!" At least Lavellan will have none of it. I won't be able to let my precious girl go when DA4 comes around, though. ![]()
Hey, one good thing, though: The fanart that I drew actually came really freaking close to what happened, haha...haha...ha.
(Ugh, the forum f*cks up the resolution of the drawing.)

I am now really kind of drooling for a way to make an evil Lavellan and make it actually stick instead of railroading us into killing him eventually.
LOL Who would name their kid "pride"?
Solas's parents. Maybe they meant it as "have pride in yourself" rather than "let your pride destroy the world".

A proud parent? LOL
I wonder if by using his real name, he felt like himself with the Inquisition and not the trickster God he's been seen as and acts as now?

I like to describe him as a walking contradiction.
He understands things, yet not truly, as he can't truly understand the wrongness of his overall actions. He sees things conceptually, instead of understanding them emotionally, and so he has the ability to be sympathetic yet cruel at the same time.

I do wish they'd let us have more 'non-canon' ending types. Endings that won't be continued in future games, but are fun for current ones.
