How do I let dragon go? Can't figure it out

There are three wheels on the walkway above the arena just as you enter that you rotate to align the fires to direct the dragon out of the gate.  One will be blocked by a cart as you turn it.  Run up to it and activate your anchor power to blow it up (this took me FOREVER to figure out), then run back and align the fires up.  Run to both sides of the gate and pull the levers to let it out.

Break/explode the gaat-lok blocking the paths of the flames. Then using the wheels turn them so they are in line with another, then turn to face the dragon towards the gate. Then open the gate.

Whilst defending from Qunari and not having your companions attack it by accident....*Mutters* Dorian....

Edit:Ninja'd

when you enter the room, first go all the way to the right. There's a gear to turn there. But the flames on the ground will get stuck at one point. Go down, stand beside the cart blocking the way and use the anchor to explode it. Go back up, finish turning the torches so they face the closed gate on the other wall. Then, go back a little bit and you'll find a second gear. Turn until the second rind of torches face the same way. Then, there's a third gear on the left of the door. Repeat the same process.

once all three are set (and a companion will say something about having to open the gate next), you go on each side of the gate. There's a switch there. Do both of them et voila!

I've always had him remove the vallaslin, but now that you,re saying this, it makes me want to keep it next time... Damn right things change. And in spite of all the bad, there is still good things in this world. Lavellan will fight to her last breath to get him to see that. As long as she's alive and kicking, she won't let him destroy the world she's fought so hard to save from Corypheus.

You know what I thought was the greatest f*** you?  The Jennies.

My Inquisitor took up Sera's offer to become a Red Jenny.  Sera, whom Solas considered no more elvhen than a horse.  Sera and her little people, whom he doesn't even consider people.  Sera, whom after reconciling is one of her best friends and staunchest supporters.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, elitist egghead.

Someone said they found it in a codex. I want the codex. I want all of the codexes. Is codexes a legitimate word, or is codex like deer where singular and plural are the same?

The word you are looking for is codices.  :)

And bringing it back around, I wonder if the Jennies are gonna be fighting against Solas now.

Solas was always telling Sera to do something with her guerilla organization.

Nope, if she did it would kill her so it's not even an option.

EDIT - though that being said, I wish it WAS an option to spitefully keep it until it kills you.  I have another Solasmancing Lavellan that would take that option.

I'd be on-board if it was a non-standard game-over. I want quizzy to be unambiguously alive so they can use her as much as possible in DA4.

I'm still glad that dying isn't an option.

Yup yup, this way is much better since it gives them full access to use our Quizzie's in the future (like Hawke, very unlike the Warden).  It's funny how most games are self-contained, story-wise, but with Bioware games we're always looking towards the next game.

I'm thinking Dorian is a huge candidate for being in DA4 considering he ends up in Tevinter as a magister regardless of what you do in-game, as far as I've seen.  If you don't recruit him he can still end up in the same position off-camera.  If he still has that handy crystal cell phone thing, I would DIE to have our DA4 protag walk in on him talking to her...and to actually hear her voice!  It would be a fun way to include Dorian, and give an immediate link to the Quizzie (assuming our DA4 protag will also be hunting for Solas?).

I didn't even check armor mods during the DLC. Dang. Will have to be more observant next time.

I was playing my new game in Valammar for the first time and found one (I haven't even left the Hinterlands yet).  And here I thought they'd been in a long time, since I haven't touched the game since January.  They're apparently runes for armor.  You can add them at the crafting table.

I would not be surprised if in DA4, part of the game requires us to either wake a Titan up or to free some of Evanuris to fight Solas toe to toe. To fight someone as powerful as Fen'Harel, you will need someone else who is as powerful as he is. Currently, I do not know of anyone except Titans and the Evanuris.

I hope we can free June or Sylaise to knock some sense into the Egghead. Or that Valta can get us a Titan to do that.

Maybe those developer notes are somewhat true. Flemeth did put something into the Eluvian and those stated she wanted Morrigan to receive her essence or whatever while she would give Solas her power. So maybe by the time the next game rolls around we'll have Morrythal? Though I don't know if that would be a good thing...

I am 100% fine with him tearing down the Veil.  I am NOT fine with him knowing it will destroy and kill everyone and everything.  I think it's too extreme for what we know of him - I don't see how he could do it to our Lavellan, let alone the friendships he made within the Inquisition.

You would think he'd hide himself away and wait until everyone dies before activating Project Clean Slate?

EDIT - I drank from the Well and the Elves were friendly.  Also, the ghosty spirits of study had a line or two because I understood them, I think?

Optimistic-ish headcanon regarding Solas's motives and the veil.  :)

Regarding Solas expressing the desire to destroy the world, despite the fact that the very idea of it obviously causes him enormous distress and runs so contrary to everything we know about him... what if there truly is no other option?

Think of it this way. The veil has obviously caused a great deal of damage to the world. It blocks magic, which means that the magic in Thedas has steadily been dwindling and may eventually cease to exist entirely. (There was something somewhere mentioning that fewer mages are being born into Dalish clans. Mages as a whole are becoming rarer.) On the other hand we have the taint, which has been infesting the world at a steady rate. Magic is often described as a 'song'. The taint is also described as a corrupted song, and there's still the question of 'silence' and what that means. (Possibly the death of the world via the removal of all magic?) What if the taint is the direct result of the veil either a ) blocking magic, or  b ) corrupting it as it passes through from the fade to the physical world? As the magic in Thedas weakens, the blight grows stronger.

The veil might even be the void, stretched thin and covering the world. The magic passing through is corrupted by whatever it is in there that sent Andruil bonkers. It could also explain why passing through the veil is so traumatic for demons. They're directly exposed to whatever poison dwells within the void. Shattering the veil a la Corypheus seemed to unleash blight over the whole world at once - whatever was contained within got out. Possibly, Solas has a less blighty but no less catastrophic option for getting rid of it.

It could be that lifting/destroying the veil is the only way to eliminate the blight at it's source. Such a connection would also explain why Solas despises the Grey Wardens so much; he knows more about the blight than they do, and their actions may actually be making it worse. If the true source of the blight isn't stopped, eventually it will consume the world, leading to death and ultimate silence. Solas may regard destroying the world as being the only way to save it. (Conveniently restoring the Elves in the process.) However he knows that the act required to save the world will devastate the mortal races, hence his pain and turmoil over what he must do. (Also compounded with the fact that he knows he wants the old world back at the expense of the current one.)

Basically, I think there's much more here at stake than Old vs New and Elvhen vs Everyone Else. MUCH more.

You...I love you....I give you like!

There's definitely gotta be more going on! If there was any other way, I'm sure Solas would at least TRY! Maybe that's just my optimistic heart crying for it to be true xD

Plus everyone in the Solas forum is burning their flags!! D: everyone is hating him! I CAN'T TAKE IT!! *Cries*

*Loves Solas WAY too much to be normal*
