So, I tried every spell and from what I can gather, the damage spells are quite awkward to use. Until I can get around it so far I like

Barrage

Good ranged option for when I need it.

Barrier

For second stage mind blast when needed, or party barrier when needed.

Fade Step/Backdash/Jump

Main damage, main mobility, main stage changer.

Glyph

Self buffs for the situation. Damage resistance, movement speed or just more damage.

Have not tried nightmare, but I imagine this would work well enough, just have to be careful with steps.

Asara's Leap, Athlok Burst, Saar-Taar Shield, and Glyphs of Aqun with Heart of Despair staff.

I buff myself with Glyphs to raise my damage, my staff chills nearby enemies automatically for 25% damage from the passive. So I leap in with the frost, burst for pull of the abyss, burst for AoE freeze with extra damage from staff synergy thanks to a passive, freeze automatically detonates, then I burst for 1 more AoE fire blast. Usually I can get off a shield before the freeze detonates for a large barrier bonus.

I'm still playing around with different abilities, and I've only played a few rounds with her. She's only level 11 for me right now, so take this with a grain salt, buuuuut.
The strategy I've been using that's been doing pretty well is to get to the Flow Stage of Baqoun Barrage, then Finishing Stage to use Asaara's leap. Flow stage for Baqoun barrage has a very quick cast and Asara's leap will get you some good damage. So this is what I'd do:

Snag "From Knowledge, Strength" as fast as you can, it's a pretty early passive ability and grants a bonus to max health with every kill. Since She has so much offensive power, kills should be plentiful. She can also get Guardian spirit which is always helpful to mages.

Then go for Athlok Burst, as the opening stage does 800% weapon damage.

After that, my strategy is to open with literally anything with a quick cast time. Maybe Asaara's leap to get near the enemy, or Saar-taar shield to protect yourself a bit, or Athlok burst to do some good damage. The Idea is to use something that has a short casting animation to combat how Awkward it is to use her. Follow your first ability with Baqoun Barrage in its flow stage on any nearby enemy, and follow with Asaara's Leap and you can continue the combo again with Athlok burst since you're Already in a group of enemies.

I haven't really figured out a 4th ability that'll compliment this combo well at all, and while it's been pretty effective for me, I don't know if this is the most efficient combo. I'm always open to suggestions though.

EDIT:
I use Mindchill staff with a Superb Spirit Rune, so my weapon DPS is 149

Hm yeah, Burst opening is really good. The problem is getting in range imo. But by the time I run in everything is usually dead.

Just got home waiting on PS4 download. Someone mentioned energy barrage so I'm already happy, a huge underrated ability imo.

OK so i think i have a pretty good build going here.

Baqoun barrage/Asaara's Leap-upgrade leap

Athlok Burst-upgraded

Saar-Taar Shield

Ring of Asaaranda-upgraded

So i keep barrage because its a decent enough spell plus you can pick and choose which element you want to bombard someone with which is pretty nifty or you can keep leap since it has way more useful applications than barrage and the finisher on it is the fastest the class has. the real combo in this build is Athlok Burst>Ring of Asaaranda>Athlok burst seriously this combo makes me drool a little bit every time i use it. i really feel like Ring of Asaaranda has one of the better Flows for this character and it helps out her finishers immensely by giving her a very much needed attack speed buff which also applies to all nearby teammates and continues well into the next "combo". Saar-Taar shield is self explanatory, its that very much needed barrier for those oh sh*t moments.

the passives i chose so far look like this

From Power, Mastery

In ignorance, Weakness

Power of the dead

Guardian spirit

with strength, Endurance

From power mastery is what i consider her best passive. it gives her the very coveted "explode on kill" skill in a passive! that's insane. In ignorance, Weakness is another must have for her since her finisher skills take sooo long to cast it sucks to be knocked out of the animation before you get to cast anything. the other passives are all pretty good and could be gotten in whatever order you wish.

so there you guys have it, i'm really liking this build so far. this character is really complex and i know for sure there are gonna better optimized builds in the next few days. can't wait to try them out. if anyone tries out this build i came up with please leave some feedback on how we can optimize this anything is welcomed.

I was thinking of replacing barrier with burst or explosion, probably burst. Meanwhile I was toying with the idea of taking glyph away in exchange for the ring ability, primarily for the flow stage where it increases attack speed. What do y'all think?

How do I build her?  Recklessly.

Glyph of Aqun

Baqoun Barrage+

Gaatlok Blast+

Itwa-Adim Explosion+

Use electric glyph

Use scepter of razikale

Use Superb belt of the storm pact

Start off with Itwa

Next use Gaatlok

End with Barrage

-Repeat-

Kill everything, or be killed.

Welcome, GI of DAMP.

Why not a hakkon staff with that?

Are her casting animations, on the ones I have so far, really slow?

Are her casting animations, on the ones I have so far, really slow?

Opener is approximately in line with most mage spells (about 50 frames)

Flow is about 30 frames

Finisher is roughly 85 frames

So ~1.66s, 1s, ~2.9s.

All of them follow this rule except for the Leap. Also, you can cancel any spell animation with Leap as long as the effect hasn't gone off yet.

Seems stage 3 is the slowest, but it tends to be the most powerful. Her casting times do seem delayed compared to other mages, but that's probably to make up for the fact she has no mana and no cooldowns.

Part 1: Dont have 1

Part 2: Fade Cloak procs are lifesavers when you have a grand total of 200 health on NM

Part 3: The ability order I listed is all electric damage, makes great use of her passive, In Knowledge, Power.  Also, I cant find a great cold damage order.
