So I just wrote up a rant regarding this patch. I figure a lot of you would disapprove of such a post, so I'm going to make viewing the rant optional. Instead, I'll get right down to business.

Can I uninstall the latest patch on PS4? It's really diminishing the quality of my game time in Inquisition, and I would like to get rid of it.

For those interested in my rant;

Companion A.I. does seem to be worse for me too.  Iron Bull and Blackwall kept running back towards me in the middle of a battle with a bear.  The second I stopped auto attacking to cast a spell they'd stop auto-attacking too.  I need to see if there's something in tactics that is new or something????

Well it's a new patch, patches usually come with bugs of their own even when they test them before hand so there's that.

Pretty sure we all agreed as a community that the knight enchanters blade was OP it's the main thing that made you want to always have Vivienne on your team.

An if you don't want to wear the new wardrobe options then don't they aren't gonna go and find everyone's fashion preferences but at least they can give people options instead.

An no there's no way to undo a patch you'll have to live with your decision

It's not separate file so you'l have to uninstall and install the game without connecting to the internet, be aware that you cannot reload any save made on the patched version.

You can technically uninstall and reinstall everything and deny the patch, but it would mean playing the game without any patch support, which would be pretty horrible.  The patches do fix a good many things.  (like the horrible cut scene freezes that were around at launch)  Also you can't play things like multiplayer and get trophies etc.

It's unfortunate to hear that others are having companion AI issues as well. I guess that means the patch is creating universal problems, and the oddities aren't just a problem of my own.

Well I've been completing multiple playthroughs since launch...most, if not all, have saves in a post-patch time frame. Guess I'm screwed.

Also I've noticed yet another gameplay issue with this new patch, the inability to generate Focus at a steady rate. I'm about to make a thread about it now.

I'm well aware it's optional but since I personally don't like the options, I'm not willing to let it eat up 4 gigs of my already limited PS4 harddrive. It seems though that I have no choice.

And I have to disagree about it being OP. It will never make sense to nerf abilities in a single player/co-op game. They are not exploits, therefore they should not be nerfed.

We could all clearly see that it was OP against any barrier or armor it made killing High Dragons extremely easy which should not be the case. Goodness even IGN come out with a article on how Vivienne was the Dragon Murderer because of the spirit blade don't dodge the truth just because your mad they changed how it works.

And I'm pretty sure that it isn't the wardrobe that's taking up all 4 Gb

I'm not dodging ****, and you asserting this so called "truth" doesn't make it any more correct.

And you don't individually download parts of the patch, so overall its 4 GBs no matter.

Lastly, I don't give a f*ck what IGN says. I'm going by my own experiences and not what others claim.

For one you definitely are dodging the ****. I'm only stating the truth we ALL KNOW

Two never said it was multiple parts I said the wardrobe isn't the bulk of the 4 Gb meaning there's more to the patch than just the wardrobe.

Third isn't not just IGN it's the community as a whole we all knew that Spirit Blade was kinda OP your EXPERIENCES should tell you that from how it murderers dragons so easily and anything else for that matter.

SO BOOM

Granted my only combat experience since the patch landed on p4 was abit of MP an loading my Necro Mage an doing the Ferelden Frostback on nightmare is limited but i had went into the fight with a staff that was only hitting the dragon for 1hp (weird i know dont ask maybe immune or something and i was stonned tbh) i only took control of one of the companions once, was Varric to use a couple of abilities when i nearly fell asleep, then went straight back onto my inq, the AI was per usual the same IE no problems that never existed before, an i took the dragon down perfectly fine with out much hassle, i'd say learn to play KE an other mage aspects in particular abit more other than spam spirit blade? it was an never will be particularly wise just to be a one skill pressing player

I know it was easy and might have felt good just holding the button in and seeing things die but probably from a developer point of view it dont exactly give good "press" about there game now does it, ppl need to feel atleast a small bit of challenge to feel like they accomplished something an to walk away with a big cheesy grin after defeating a boss or whatever, holding the trigger wont do that an will just make the game very much have no impact an just be "forgettable" not exactly a good thing for a game

ppl talk about and remember great games for particular reasons, but i can never remember one being hold the button to win

Meh, I already posted my angry post for this patch in a different topic (relating to spell/skill changes) so no point in repeating. I do find it very frustrating when developers listen to a few narrow-minded loud mouths and do silly stuff like this.

And yes, nerfing something into the ground in single player is stupid. Particularly when doing so basically destroys the way that "thing" has worked so far. Because now, any KE build that depended on SB is all but useless.

Like I said in that previous topic, great "thinking" BW.

It's the same thing they did when they initially made the game - they tailored the powers then and they're doing it now. Nothing more, nothing less.

First it's HILARIOUS that you don't how to grammar. That wasn't even a sentence my good whatever you are.

Second he couldn't answer anything because I simply never asked a question if you read what I actually replied to him with. Or at least I'm sure I didn't.

So it figures as to why your meaningless comment makes no sense.

BOOM GOES THE GTFOUTTAHERE DYNAMITE.

Oh no, a syntax error! Stop with the petulant arguments, FFS.

Ignoring the points of another and, instead, targeting their English is reaching for low-hanging fruit. You may as well give up the argument at that point. As an English student, it annoys me to no end when people act as if they know the rules whilst showing that they clearly don't. So, you can use improper English, but no one else can? Strange...

For one I didn't point out his grammar in the sense he could not use the English language correctly. I pointed it out because his sentence made no sense. I never asked him a question so he never answered a thing. All he she it did was dodge the point that the spell was a bit OP as we all know. So they changed the ability

Also next time if you have a problem with what I do or say make sure to quote me next time so I know. Don't just comment as if there were others when you obviously were talking to me.

An feel free to correct any grammar mistake I might have made put all the English knowledge to you and be my personal spell check.

Is it actually using 4 GB, or did the 4 GB download overwrite some previously installed data? Net space could be 0 GB...

I actually thought it was just me...glad to know I'm not crazy (not completely anyway).
Its def annoying.

I've messed with AI behaviors quite a bit and it hasn't resolved the issue. I still have squaddies standing motionless next to my PC instead of attacking. (I wonder if BW went this direction to try to get more players to utilize the tac feature?)

Trying to interact with NPC's is a PITA, they freeze or just don't react at all.

It is a shame that they nerf abilities, but at the same time I can understand why they did it. But it does force the players to completely change-up their tactics or even trash a file to completely create a new/different build. (Aren't there REAL issues in DAI that BW SHOULD be addressing rather than going back months later and altering abilities?)
For a Mage the KE spec was my fav mainly due to the SB. But my fav class is still a rogue.
Has anyone noticed if they changed anything on the rogue's abilities????

Truthfully, the "stop arguing" thing is (or was originally) directed at everyone. That's why I didn't quote. Plus, my post was right below yours, anyway.

Going from this comment you made in a thread of yours (the subject of which, I agree), on page three:

And as someone who's first language is English ima tell u that I'm online talking about a freaking game so I don't have to punctuate crap you can read it just fine

I'd gathered you weren't interested in being corrected. This specific comment was why I was perplexed at your complaint about the other user being difficult to parse. Though the syntax was a little screwy, I understood the concept just fine. If you replace "answered" with "said to," it will clear up the message, I think.

Hey, I'll correct anyone's English (I'll correct your English; I'll correct your dog's English--I'll correct my own English!), if I get paid to do it... or asked politely. What can I say? I'm a softy. :P

Anyway, enough thread derailing. Only relevant comment I have is that I'm super bummed that I never got the chance to try out the Knight-Enchanter before it got nerfed. I understand nerfing MP stuff, but SP stuff shouldn't have to suffer for it. Those're just my two cents, of course. I'm getting tired of all the unnecessary SP nerfing and easy-to-avoid exploit-removal going on. Of course, nerfing wouldn't bother me in the least if enemies didn't have inflated health bars of MMO proportions, regardless of difficulty. If this wasn't the case in DAI (which it very much is), I'd say "nerf" away. I'm on PC, though, and can just use cheaty mods to bypass nerfing, for the most part.
