As you may guess I'm playing MGS 5 currently. Now the main crux of that game is to build your organization, sound familiar? DAI has you building your own organization, the Inquisition; but it pales in comparison to the feeling of building Motherbase and Diamond dogs.

You are apart of your organization and your working to make it bigger and stronger. You recruit people either by kidnapping them or getting volunteers, you then assign them to a position where they can best be useful to your organization, like R&D, support, combat, medical etc. If certain recruits have proficient combat you can actually take them on the field and play as them which is ****** cool if you ask me. Then you have the base building where you actually build your base and have customization unlike Skyhold. Everything just meshes up well and I'm probably not explaining it well enough but i genuinely feel like I'm a leader of a Private army/mercenary group - Diamond Dogs.

DAI, well everything sort of happens and you feel like more of grunt instead of a leader. I mean you don't recruit anyone apart from agents that really aren't that useful. Remember in Awakening where you had to collect raw materials for your blacksmith and he'd create armour and weapons for your soldiers to use? The same sort of thing happens in MGS V where you develope weapons and gear that you and every person in your organization can use. DAI lacks this, I mean why can't I use my funds and other resources to better arm my troops with Silverite weapons and superior battle armour?

Bioware will probably never do this sort of organization building again with DA but if they do then I suggest they look at Phantom Pain. They did it right.

I'll probably add more things to this post later on as i play this game and remember things from DAI but essentially, I feel Bioware has been blown away yet again: this time by MGS V with their organization and base building.

PS: no spoilers of MGSV as I've not finished it nor have others or people who are thinking about getting this great game.

I will go out on the internet and collect all spoilers for this game and cram them into your thread. We are after all in the spoilers forum.

Saying that Inquisition sucks compared to Witcher 3 is soooooo passé: it's disdainful comparisons with Metal Gear Sold 5 which are fashionable now.

Dutch... why are you still here? What do you gain by being an a*shole? Nothing. You gain no friendship and no respect. Why do you insist on sh*tting on Dragon Age?

Uh, this thread is pretty tame so I don't see the proverbial sh**ting. Im merely telling Bioware in which direction they should look at for organization and base building and I provided examples.

Please. You might have worded it better, but we all know your game.

Remember the PAX 2013 demo and the promises of really building our Inquisition and the customizable bases? Bioware played us like a damn fiddle.

What game? I'm a DA fan and I want to give my input. The only reason I'm here is because of the upcoming DLC which I will purchasing and playing twice(for both of my Inquistors) because it's end game and Bioware have a lot to live up to.

I'm surprised you haven't yet praised Everybody's Gone to the Rapture for its superior simulation of walking through empty areas.

I think that in the end, most of that organisation building aspect got cut from DAI (probably due to the last gen issues), so comparisons to MGS5 model probably aren't of much use. MGS5 obviously does organisation building better because in the end, DAI basically didn't have any to speak of. Still Bioware will hopefully have a look at what Kojima and his team did, and take ideas from there if they decide to have organisation building mechanics in DA4 (which is by no means a given).

So we can look forward to your opinion on that then... Oh goodie...

I think they'll never do it. Unless we play as a ruler of a nation and can expand/build our capital ala Assassins Creed Brotherhood's Rome.

I think that they did a might fine job with Awakening and how you really felt that you ran a place and you were a leader, leading the Grey Wardens of Fereleden at Amaranthine. Inquisition should have just looked at Awakening and copied it and it still would have been better than the final product we have with DAI.

I can see how Awakening did a better job of simulating a military command, considering you never once direct any troops and need to do everything yourself.

Guys, we all know that Dutch isn't very popular around here but this is a valid point. The touted "founding the jedi order" experience wasn't fully delivered and Phantom Pain should be a wake up call for those who don't see that.

If you think Dutch is being trolly, then just don't respond to his threads/comments. He's clearly set in his beliefs and he seems to be committed to providing non-constructive feedback.

Awakening was a 15-20hour expansion while DAI is 130hr game mostly comprised of fetch quests. Too bad Awakenkng wasn't a full blown sequel to DAO. It would have been fantastic.

OP, the only reason you are here is to nitpick at every single little thing you didn't like about Dragon Age Inquisition. At this rate you may as well compare it to FIFA 2016.

Get a refund, play the games you actually like, and move on. (And this is coming from somebody who thought DA:I was average, at best)

I can't get a refund since it's been almost a year since I purchased this game. Besides I wouldn't want to refund DAI, I put 330hours into it across two painful playthroughs although my second and most recent playthrough as an OP archer with leaping shot + Hail of Arrows build makes the combat quite entertaining.

... then why are you complaining all the time?

If it was painful, you could have got a refund much sooner.

It'll need a few patches before I look at again. A Steam code for it came with my new video card. Mouse doesn't even work in the menus. LOL

Nice to know a game does eventually break out though... at some point after the movie ends.

Oh, of course. Clearly the length was the reason why the Warden needed to, say, clear out his own basement of darkspawn. If it had been longer, we coulda got the soliders to do it. Clearly I was wrong when I assumed Dragon Age was an action RPG and not an RTS game.
